The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two-Face Casting Thread

It's only a rumor...

I know but all final decisions begins as rumors.

My only two choices are:

Joaquin Phoenix

Liev Schrieber

in that order.

I want Liev Schrieber or Guy Pearce

Pearce was #1 on my list but I really doubt he would do it and I don't think he has had a hit in quite a while either (meaning he's not on the "Who's hot" list, which may not be even necessary for a Batman movie.) It would be nice to see him team with Nolan again though.

Since Nolan likes to cast fellow Brits how about Rufus Sewell? He's older that Bale at 38 but he has a nice intensity and darkness that he brings to a role. I think he could pull off the dual role of Dent and Two Face.

I'm still hope pearce thinks about it if offered the role, Memento is the reason why he should do it.

Yeah Rufus Sewell would be anther great choice as Dent, it seems he's canidate for Joker. I can't believe Sewell is 38 he looks 27 or 28 years old.

Other than Liev Schriber, I would say Clive Owen to be another good choice.

Yeah he would but I like him as Dwight in Sin City and I supported him as 007 for Casino Royale.

I forgot about Clive Owen. He should have been Bond, but he would be a terrific Dent.

By the way, are you saying that Sewell is a candidate for Joker? Is this just a rumor? Whats the source? That would be great if he was. I think he could do.

Schreiber is a great suggestion but Pearce is my No.1 choice, simply because of Memento. I would love to see him team up with Nolan again and was damn surprised he didn't get a part in The Prestige. Having him play as either one of the magicians would have been perfect. But I digress... Pearce for Dent!

It was a rumor posted by moviehole.net I think I'm not quite sure.

I am not even sure who Sewell is other than him just being a rumor for a Bat-villain.

I like Josh Lucas and all, but I don’t think he has the acting abilities to pull off Harvey Dent.

Sewell is my top choice for Dent, but I can't see him as The Joker.

I love the fact that they're picking actors who some of us never thought of for Dent.I support Lucas as a candidate for this role though Schrieber will still be my favorite for the time being.

One thing I've seen Lucas show when playing whatever character he is in a movie is that he is strong character.

Josh Lucas looks like an *******.

I don't mean that in a particularly...mean sense, I just mean he just looks like the guy who's a real bugger in the film. Like he was in Hulk.

Thing is...I can't decide if that's a bad thing or good for Harvey. :o

Well Harvey does have a sord of mean side to him as shown in the comics. And I would like to see how that happens in the sequel as if to show his route to becoming Two-Face after he has the acid thrown to his face to make him even angrier and have his revenge.Lucas IMO was a bit of a bugger in Hulk, and I respect the fact that you admitted that as Im going to now.But that was then and this is now.So if he does end up getting cast(though its just a rumor)I want to see how he'll play it all out.

Well I don't know about that since it's only a rumer of him getting cast as Dent and I think there is much better choices like Liev Schreiber, Guy Pearce and Justin Theroux.

Exactly. I just can't decide if I'd prefer a Dent who was a completely good guy, to make his "fall" more painful for the viewer, or go the TAS route and make Harvey slightly responsible for his Two-Face mentality.

I thought I bring this back with some posters might not have read it.

"It seems that there is new candidate for Harvey Dent according to BOF Josh Lucas who started with Christian Bale in American Psycho and I agree with Jett I too never thought this guy playing Dent."

He should be a complete good guy with maybe a hint of a character flaw.

Here an excerpt from BOF of a review of "The Long Halloween" -

-"Loeb succeeds where I think the sequel to BEGINS must -- making Harvey Dent a likeable character that you feel sympathy for. Two Face is a bastard, but when Harvey changes, it breaks the readers heart. This is impressive in that most readers go into this story knowing that Harvey will become Two Face, and the things that Two Face will do. Regardless of that knowledge, the reader finds him or herself hoping that Harvey is not the killer, even though all clues point directly to him. This is what The Batman does as well."

Loeb is a great writer for Batman. Hopefully, they use that to when Harvey/Two-Face is in the sequel(s).

Lucas? I guess it's not a bad choice. I still like Schreiber myself.......
