The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two Face Thread

Soooo, noone in America saw Batman Forever eh?

I sure as hell hope it's handled better than that.

Two-Face flipping the coin over and over again until getting the desired side?

**** you, Joel. **** you.

It's not like nobody else has ever flipped coins in movies before No Country for Old Men. It'll be fine. I remember the first time I saw the trailer for that movie, the first thing I thought of was Two-Face.

That's my point though. I imagine a lot of non-Batman people will be thinking about No Country and see it as a ripoff. I mean, it's not like Dent is flipping coins just for fun here.

I just love assumptions.

That could very well be Harvey answering in his "Dent" voice, instead of Two-Face speaking in his "Two-Face" voice (the cop asks and only know Harvey, not Two-Face) So his "other" voice might still be unknown to us viewers. He's insane and has a split personality, what would be so "unrealistic" about him having a different voice for his other personality, Two-Face?

The voice we heard was most definately the two-face voice.

That scene didnt feel anything like a batman movie but I still loved it. I also liked the line "you want someone to shake it for ya too?"

I donno, from the brown lighting to the quippy writing..it felt like something out of Batman Begins to me..kinda reminiscent of Falcone's bar.

here's my unnecessary breakdown:
+
1) yay! national guard reminds me of how much trouble Joker is going to cause
2) cinematography/lighting is great! Feels like something out of a drama where men dressed as Bats wouldn't appear; adds another layer of respectability to the film. I love the quality here.
3)They didn't show Two-Face's 2 faces. Good, we don't need that spoiled yet.
4)Dirty Cops who don't care about Gotham; "Eh, this is my day off" - good stuff
5) Dent seeking revenge here?
6) The bartender's waltzing back and forth made him look like he actually had to go to the bathroom - attention to detail is nice to see.
-
1)I think the cop should have looked a little more freaked out when a guy with half of his face appears out of nowhere, even if he does recognize him
2)Isn't this cop the same guy that said "the whole place is gonna blow!" about 500 times in Begins?

I'm waiting for more 2 face line delivery before I begin to criticize it here.
I agree, but I dont think that cop is the same guy from BB. He has a different voice.

AAAARGH!!! I hate this annoying banner ad with the chime noise!!!!

Then it's not cliche is it?

Also, from what I can remember, Gollum only really did it once.

I just felt like Nolan wants to push the boundaries and do things differently, and like I said it was just a rumor and that was the impression I got.

Damn, I just thought of the manip recreation of this scene and how damn accurate it was, the user who did it deserves a big ass hug.

Im loving 2faces from what little we hear of it

I think he said half a little too quickly tho
maybe because hes just about to
kill him
also the music seemed kinda not right imo I dont know why

but other than that I think that also points an argument against the poetic dialogue issue I thought the dialogue in this was alot more normalized than in BB. Which is a very good thing

Don't worry about it. From what I hear, the scene's condensed. Shortened.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it was only HALF as long as the normal scene.

Is there any factual evidence that this scene is shortened?
I think it works great, the timing is perfect IMO.

That guys a terrible actor! He sees this...
...and just calmly says "Dent, I thought you was dead?"
???

Terrible delivery!

I do like the scene a lot, I wasn't trashing it. I just thought that your statement was as you put it a bit over board.:cwink:

Other than the people who saw the original clip at one of the big comic cons and said it was, no. None.

also the music seemed kinda not right imo I dont know why

The instrumentation reminds me of a big dissonant chord held on the organ. Gave me an old horror movie vibe to the introduction of Two Face. I liked it.

Might just be the strings, but it does actually sound like an organ is sustaining at 0:20.

:hoboj: - Ahahahaha!
