Hawaii Five-O - Part 2

Michelle Shioma is a great villain. They need to keep this gal.

That was a respectable finale. They left Shimoa as a potential major villain but they didn't leave the season on the cliffhanger of will/won't McGarrett survive. We all know he would so there was no reason to keep him in jeparody.

I wonder if we'll be seeing any more of Masi Oka (Max) seeing as he is going to do Doctors Without Borders. Although they also set it up so the series will pick up no sooner than 6 months after the finale so he'll have time to return from his stint in a believable amount of time.

I wish Max were written out and that other hot female medical examiner took his place. What was her name again? She doesn't seem to play anymore. Also would be nice if Julie Benz were a regular. We need more females, otherwise it's just Kono and the Sausage Fest.

Julie Benz is going to be starring in another show next season so unless it gets cancelled I doubt we'll see her again for a while.

So season 7 is more sausage fest.

At least they could've brought back Amanda Setton as the medical examiner instead of Max (I hope he's left).

And are they going to follow up on what happened to Catherine?

She's working undercover for the CIA. I doubt they'll go into much detail with her.

Anyone remember Kono's surf chase from back in season 5? It was one of the coolest chases they've had not only in Hawaii Five-0 but on television generally.

I found a video of it.

I don't really like the editing on it, because half of the shots are upside down for effect (who thought that would be a good idea?), but at least we can get to watch it again.

I really hope they have an over arching plot for season 7. These "crime of the week" episodes are fine but to have an overall theme and main villian throughout the year is part of what made the show great.

Are they going to be just regular guest stars like Kamekona, or part of the main cast? What about Claire Forlani? I thought she was on NCIS: LA.

From the articles, Forlani and Chao will be recurring characters while Tahir's role sounds more like a one-time guest star role, but the article wasn't really clear.

Also, Forlani's NCIS: LA recurring character was killed off nearly 4 seasons ago so she hasn't been on that show in a while.

Forlani's character sounds like she will bring the team an overarching storyline for the season with the serial killer she is chasing.

Kind of strange they will bring her in seeing as the NCIS universe is tied into the Hawaii 5-0 one. They don't often reuse actors in different roles.

I think she's been gone long enough from NCIS: LA that most people won't notice. It's not unprecedented either since the actress who plays Agent Brody on NCIS: NOLA appeared on JAG as another character. Plus, there have been plenty of other actors who've been on multiple NCIS shows and H50 playing different characters.

Ok I see. On the Five-USA TV channel here in the UK, they keep advertising "New NCIS:LA" several times a day, and it always shows Claire Forlani's character telling Callan to hold back, giving the impression she's a current cast member. But then it does keep talking about the new season of Rookie Blue as well. :o

True, and the audience between the two series is probably different enough they don't think anyone will notice on top of the fact they only did a single crossover episode and then that was it. I was hoping there would be more of them like DC's shared universe does but it seems CBS and/or the producers behind the NCIS and Hawaii 5-0 series aren't interested.

I read the synopsis for tonight's ep and thought it would be no more than your standard season premiere...so glad I was wrong.

This is ep was interesting and action-packed, which is always awesome but it also introduced a new villain, who has yet to be seen and seems like an ongoing plot based off how tonight's ep ended.

H50 needed to bring it for me and they did. I'm ready for the new season.

That "cameo" at the beginning! And yeah this is definitely one of their better episodes.

Great start to the season, they sold the ep on the epic chase which lived up to it's hype, but the mystery was just as good, very intriguing.

I thought Abby was joining Five-0 not HPD, and Julie Benz isn't on the credits. :(

That CGI Jack Lord cameo was weird, he looked like a video game cut scene, not sure the voice was all that great either.

I loved this, after the parkour guy plummeted to his death I was hoping there'd be more to the story as we hadn't gotten an explanation for the chess pieces or why the people were killed , and then we got that ending! :wow: Looks like the team have a vigilante serial killer as their nemesis for this season.

6. A new big bad

Season 7 kicks off with a case about a serial killer who's "sort of working the island," Lenkov says. That story will play out over the first four episodes, and the threads from that plotline will extend through the rest of the season, with someone tied to the serial killer story line becoming Five-0's new Enemy No. 1. "It's a very different big bad," Lenkov hints. "Somebody a little bit more cerebral, a little bit more complex than anybody that we've dealt with before." Sounds ominous!

I noticed they had new credits, especially Kono's! :ilv: Looks like next weeks ep provided the footage.

Looks like another good one!

Was that a CGI Jack Lord or was it just someone made up to look like him? It didn't sound like him at all.

I thought Julie Benz was also going to be part of Five-0. Why do we want Jorge Garcia or Masi Oka who didn't even play? Get Julie in the credits instead.

She's not going to be on the show full-time because she's booked in a major role on the new Training Day series.

Kono was killing it in that red dress. :ilv:
