Hawaii Five-O - Part 2

This week's episode was pretty good and action packed.

That girl at the beginning who was murdered was hot. She looked hot lying there naked on her bed (save for the strangulation marks). Sadly she died, as I would've liked to have seen more of her. She seems to be a Sports Illustrated model named Michelle Vawer.

Why was Non channelling James Bond though? It can't be that all British spies are like that.

And that didn't sound like the Queen at the end.

Kono was badass at the end of the last episode doing her Blindspot impression and coming out of that money bag to shoot every single thug. Of course, to make it a true Blindspot impression she would've had to have been naked in the bag. :oldrazz:

Now is Elizabeth Rohm involved in the serial murders? She has a book on medieval chess. Or is it just coincidence?

I'd say she likely knows the person doing the murders or is helping out with them.

Well, it looks like the psychologist both knows the people doing the crimes and is helping out with them. She's one cold-blooded criminal that should be a good season-long antagonist.

Kono is the sharpest shooter on the Island! :D That sequence at the end of last weeks ep was awesome and this week she took that tyre out on the move!

Another really good ep this week that concluded the first chapter of the serial killer storyline, the stuff with McGarrett and Alicia trying to survive in the cave was really well done and tense.

Agreed, I'm sure the fact they've hired Elizabeth Rohm that we'll see her pop up several times across the season, I think the serial killer that killed Alicia's daughter may feature into her plans.

1- I guess stab wounds from big kitchen knives heal pretty quick (bleeding and other damage) as it displayed little affect after leaving the house.

2- As Steve did not show any big affects from being stabbed after coming out of the van I am pretty disappointed a highly trained navy seal is unable to take out a scrawny dude and his wife even with his hands tied. (especially after the skills put on display with the MI-6 agent).

PS. Teeth > than duct tape.

Well...magical-stab-wound-healings and badass crazy couple aside...it was a pretty interesting ep!

I especially loved ELizabeth Rohm's performance...she was an A+ and needs to play crazy more. I especially loved her tete a tete with our profiler....must see TV moment.

She is a little too good sometimes. I really hated her character on The Last Ship.

They really pulled a bait and switch with the trailer for this weeks ep, I thought we were in for an ep like the one where the guy stole the armored suit, only this time with a Mad Max style vehicle.

Instead it turned into an ep with the show broaching one of the most powerful subjects in the world today.

Next week is the traditional Halloween ep. :D

Besides the season premiere and finale, I think I look forward to their Halloween episode the most out of any other episodes.

The Halloween ep was fun, they dabbled in a couple of horror tropes and had a nice little story with Jerry and Danno's kids.

Seems Alex O'Loughlin time with H50 is coming to a close as he's now said in a couple interviews that he's likely done with the show once his contract ends after S8, mainly because of all the injuries (from what I've read: two blown out shoulders, torn biceps, pinched nerve in his neck, herniated disk in his back, torn knee ligaments, dislocated elbow, pneumonia and numerous sprains, strains, tears and cuts) he's suffered doing a lot of his stunts. He could have avoided a lot of these injuries had he used his stunt double more often in earlier seasons or the showrunners/writers/production staff had made changes that would have caused less wear and tear. Even though ratings are up this season, the show is consistently on the bubble due to costs and there's been a lot of rumors that Scott Caan, Grace Park, and Daniel Dae Kim want to pursue other things, which may mean it's time to wrap up after S8 while they still have the original team together.

Also, looks like they hired Rookie Blue's Missy Peregrym to guest star as Danny's sister, Bridget, in Episode 10, which should air sometime in December.

As much as I have enjoyed the show it does sound like it will be coming to a close soon and that is fine. They could retire the existing cast and phase in replacements but it just wouldn't be the same so better to just end it now on a high note.

Have they even been renewed for an eighth? And I don't blame Oka, he's been very underused for years now.

Loved this weeks ep, the tie-in with the JFK assassination was really well done and a different approach to what I was expecting.

Well I just watched the latest episode. I was hoping they would stretch out the Sarah kidnapping case for the whole of the second part with the team out to find Chin Ho. Instead, it was all resolved by the time the credits had rolled, and the latest episode was completely unconnected and rather run of the mill with the car salesman murder.

I'm glad Masi Oka is leaving, but apparently next week's episode might be a bit of a clip show with Max's greatest hits. That sounds boring to me.

Now if only they would get back that hot medical examiner from earlier seasons played by Amanda Setton. I wanted her instead of Max, who has always been irritating. The show also needs another female.

Also, I think the show would be done once McGarrett leaves. You can't do the show without him. You can lose the other team members (and they did that in the original series with Chin Ho killed and others retired) but McGarrett remained.

If they do wrap up the show, then I think McGarrett probably needs to end up back with Catherine. While it's been nice to see Sarah Carter, she's never had much to do and hasn't really become ingrained within the show. She's always felt temporary.

The season finale was great, the sequence where McGarrett and the team were rescuing the girls off the truck was one of the best the show has done, and the finale set up interesting new stories for Kono and McGarrett.

I'd say this was the best season since the first couple.

IMHO, the show probably should've ended after Wo Fat died. It's really been spinning its wheels ever since.

Not to mention that horrible episode where they finally caught Wo Fat.

At the start, Hawaii Five-O was a nice throwback action series with likable characters and really good pacing. There was a sense of an unfolding plot. Then after a few seasons they just sort of threw it out the window and basically started using recycled TV plots from NCIS and CSI reruns. Like the same basic stories, beats, and everything. They even did this moronic roller derby episode that was almost exactly the same as a roller derby episode on CSI: Miami.

Why even continue the show without McGarrett? Him and Danno is the central relationship for the series.

I don't think the show is going to be without O'Loughlin should it go past next season as Peter Lenkov suggested on Twitter that people should not write off O'Loughlin or the show too soon. They have changed the way they write and film McGarrett's action scenes, mainly cutting down on the overly physical stuff he used do by saying he has to take it easy due to his liver transplant. They've basically transitioned him from a Navy SEAL who's playing the part of a detective to someone who's a detective that used to be a Navy SEAL. With the steps they've taken to reduce the wear and tear on O'Loughlin and give the rest of the cast more to do, it may give them an extra year or two.

I guess it helps to have not watched CSI: Miami. Makes it seem like a whole new episode.

I respect O'Loughlin if he was doing a lot of the action and stunts himself to make the show look authentic. However, it sounds like he really should've left that to the professionals because it was taking a toll on him physically.

I believe it was actually CSI: New York who did the roller derby but otherwise that isn't too far off the mark.
