HBO's True Detective - Part 2

Yeah but what I like what Pizzolatto has been doing is choosing less obvious cities for the locations. We've seen Philidelphia and especially NYC done more times to count across movies and television. A lesser known city creates something unique and unexplored.

Philly has been shown in tv shows and movies but not as much as LA and NYC. LA been done to death in Hollywood yet this season primarily takes place in LA, so why not big name cities like Philly next season.

I actually think it should go east. We've been south and west, I wouldn't mind a place like upstate New York. Ever been to Buffalo? Once once of the greatest cities in the world now it fits into the degradation that Pizzolatto's locations deal in.

Someone suggested Detroit for a future season a few pages back. That's like the ultimate decaying city.

I just want next season to be in a city where it snows heavily.

Yeah... I really liked S1 TD but the first season of Fargo and the trailers of season two are totally topping TD for me. Something about the unique locations (I live in the Midwest, sick of LA/NYC/Vegas in TV) and the quirky characters plus the Cohen heart and noir it brings.

Now I want a buddy cop film with Farrell & Vaughn. Written/directed by Martin McDonagh or Shane Black please.

"What brand was the mayo? What brand was the mayo? What brand was the mayo? Whaaat?!" :funny:

Edit.

Caught up on last weeks. Shoot out was crazyyyy. Ready for tonight's.

When that shootout was over I couldn't help but think about the crazy amount of paperwork that those three are going to have to do. That arrest went completely **** up. Civilians, cops, sheriffs, and state cops were all killed. Talk about a cluster****.

Caught up.

Shootout was cool, but I dont think it was anything special or crazy. The crazy/special thing was the amount of casualties of innocents and cops. McAdams and Farrell's reactions were great. Other than that I wasnt that that impressed.

The rest of the episode didnt do much for me either

Im still very lukewarm on the season.

Honestly, the shooutout itself wasnt any more impressive then what Ive seen on Hawaii Five 0 or whatever. Just the collateral damage length and blood set it apart.

Anyway you know what wouldve made for a good season, but I feel they already did it with The Bridge, setting it on a Mexican border town and having it deal with crime in Mexico and say Texas

That would have been a lot more interesting. So far this season is a dud. Thankfully due to the anthology nature of the show this season can't taint the wonderful first season.

Slow?

It's not any slower than the first season was at this point.

Was mcadams kidding about what she said about girth? If not, could that be what her boytoy referred to in the first episode?

The difference is the first season's characters, plot, and msytery were a lot more interesting. Even the execution this season is blah. It's the exact same thing every episode. Vince tries to get investors and talks to his wife about investments and putting a bun in her oven, Taylor pouts about being gay, Collin sulks around and meets Vince in the same booth in the same club that apparently only has one singer, McAdams sulks and pisses off people around her. And while they are doing that stuff and in-between doing that stuff Taylor, McAdams, and Colin go to various places and have uninteresting conversations with leads. Oh and how could I forget the various screen-savers of LA's highway system spread throughout the episodes.

It's just not interesting at all.

I'm halfway through the episode. Someone just shoot me in the head.

This should have been episode 2, instead of the 3 episodes of filler ******** we got... attest the Casper plot if finally going somewhere even though the characters are still cardboard.
