Well seeing that you know as much about those scenes as I do (ie, nothing apart from the trailer and sides), neither of us can comment on what he would or wouldn't do, white skin or not, it's a fallacious argument I'm afraid!

You see him walk down an empty street. And standing.
You See him shoot a gun!
Maybe I'm defeated here. You're a better man than I am! I can't say I know how the joker acts to certain situations in a film from based on a trailer from which i have heard about 5 lines of dialogue from a character and seen about 30 seconds of footage.
reqwec, regwec, oh reqwec. Why must you be the fly in the ointment. It's a boring looking figure, and I think that captures Nolan's boring approach to the character quite well.
t: .Come on, guys...
To get the good face sculpts, we need to buy the top shelf collectibles. The things that will come from places like Sideshow, not Mattel.
We all know this.

Didn't realize I needed permission. Sorry.

he doesnt just put on makeup to scare people, he puts it on to accentuate his scars, which in case you didnt notice, is standing in for white skin as a permanant deformity. he was still in some kind of accident we just dont know which. he is still permanatly changed physically. so most of your argument is moot im afraid.
well, some of us have seen about 7 minutes of him on film so we have a general idea hopw he walks talks etc...as well as first hand set reports of the filming. so i would say we know a little more than how he "smacks his lips".
this should really be in the makeup thread though.
im gonna repost this there.
I still wouldn't really care, actually. I have no problem with a make-up Joker, and in fact like it just as much as a perma-joker.ok, if nolan didnt take this route and some fan made a film making joker look like this, most fans would be sh**ing on it, saying how hes not permawhite and all. lets just say, if nolan wasnt the one doing it, most if not all the fanboys would be saying this joker looks like crap. but because nolan is doing *GASP!* it looks wonderful!![]()

Yeah, human beings are well conditioned to get used to anything, no matter how undesirable. Severed limbs, bereavement, terminal disease and infertility can all be faced with composure and stoicism. Why not the sabotage of a beloved childhood anti-idol? It's nothing, really...not true, at first when i realised ledger wasnt perma-white i was quite distraught by it, but it grew on me over the months, like it was said before (sorry i cant remember who said it) but even though hes not perma-white he has that chelsea grin for a permanant deformity, so its not like your normal run of the mill killer, he still has a deformity that could be mind-snapping to an already unstable person.
