If Pete Postelwaithe were alive he'd be my choice.

Also if this thread title is a Red Letter Media reference, props! :funny:

I can totally see Hugh playing a BTAS Alfred. That’s a brilliant casting choice.

He’s already in Doom Patrol in a recurring role, but Timothy Dalton would be excellent. really enjoy him in Penny Dreadful too.

All Bonds should play Alfred once they reach a certain age, someone should make that a rule

I have to eat my words. Daniel Craig could definitely play Alfred nowadays... he's aged A LOT.

Gordon maybe.
I mean, this is supposed to be a young Batman. Having a 50 year old Alfred would be nice for a change, and Craig is definitely aging and after Bond I really doubt he'll still be working out as hard and like being in the spotlight.
In a way, him taking Alfred would be the perfect way to show he's done leading the show.

And I thought I was kidding when I suggested Jude Law as Alfred...

I love the House suggestion though, me and wife talked about him as Alfred 2-3 years ago lol

Pierce in The Batman and Dalton in Doom Patrol

Cavill as the next Bond and it goes round and round and round

Hmm, was Affleck the Brosnan of Batman movies?

Visually a platonic ideal but despite a promising start, got bogged down by mediocre films (I mean, among other things. I don’t think we can be totally precise here.)

I was accepting him as the Dalton Batman, where yeah, very ideal, but not at all in movies the general public liked and supported and they treat him like crap.

Affleck and Irons had a comparatively short age gap. I thought it worked really well actually.

I wouldn't at all mind a "younger" Alfred.

That might have contributed to Affleck’s decision to portray their relationship as more platonic (i.e. Jim Gordon) than familial. He mentioned it an interview a while back.
