I like the Mark Rylance suggestion, but he's almost guaranteed to play the new Gandalf (or Radagast) in Amazon's LOTR. I'd bet money on it.

Not necessarily. Tom Holland said he wanted to be Spider-Man long before he got the role. Not the same situation but stillSadly him saying that is the kiss of death for him actually getting the part.

If they don't keep Irons, let's get Pierce Brosnan in there. I like the meta quality of having a legit former Bond as Alfred as a hat tip to his SAS history. I think Brosnan also has the wit to contend with Caine and Irons' renditions and maintain that gentleman's gentleman facade.
If they're going with a younger Batman, Alfred should be in the 50-60 age range.He’s pretty much the ideal choice. He’s a guy that can obviously play a rougher Alfred, but also convey the warmth like Caine did so well.
