Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - Part 11

They're right.

Bruce needs other members to compensate for Superman's absence.

Ehhh. . . this is going a road too far. The idea that you need an entire team to make up for the absence of one hero? Well, it can work, but not with a JLA that at least pretends to be Big Seven style. If your replacing his power, then you don't need three extra new members to do it. If your replacing his leadership and inspiration. . . well, you *also* don't need three new members, because Superman wasn't bring any of that. :oldrazz: Also, the person most able to lead and inspire is Wonder Woman, whose already a member.

Forming the JLA really should be about taking on challenges *none* of them could handle on their own. It should be the kind of thing that would have been in the works just as much if Superman lived.

Look at the bright(?) side. You don't have to take actions based on even just a 1% chance that JL will go bad. It has a *far* higher likelihood. :cwink::csad:

Lol, strangely enough I do think that JL does have a good chance of being a good f8lm in general, better than the previous Snyder films. However, when it comes to the superman portion.... It's not just a 1% for me but almost 90% that I'm sure of that the superman part is going to suck and leave a lot to be desired.

Of course, he was. He was a leader because he was the only hero who stepped into the light and engaged humanity. He was an inspiration because he saved people even when they bullied him and when he didn't owe the world a thing. He inspired just as many people as Diana ever did and did it on a global scale, especially with his sacrifice. Superman inspired Pete, Lois, Swanwick, Hardy, Hamilton, and Bruce.

Also, the person most able to lead and inspire is Wonder Woman, whose already a member.

Diana never revealed herself as a particularly good leader, in my opinion. She sort of just did her own thing and didn't necessarily need or want anyone to follow. She wasn't a team player either. And I'd say she was more inspired by her team than she inspired them. Steve had to make his big sacrifice without her and her support, after all. His leadership and sacrifice seemed to be the most instrumental in Ares' defeat and the preservation of peace. I think the only person Diana really affected was Charlie. If Diana was the most able to lead and inspire, then she would be the one spearheading the recruitment, but Bruce is doing that. If Diana was the most inspirational, she would have come forward in the wake of Superman's debut to make a difference. She didn't. She waited.

Forming the JLA really should be about taking on challenges *none* of them could handle on their own. It should be the kind of thing that would have been in the works just as much if Superman lived.

I think it is the League that needs Superman not necessarily because he's everything they are not, but because the heroes themselves were inspired by him and recognize they and the world need all the help it can get.

This pretty much. He was a beacon (whether for hope or whatever is up to you) for sure just for being the first to actively and initiate the metahuman engagement with the world as a whole. Everything that's happened after is because of Superman (aside from WW's film which is a flashback).

Whoever made that gif...please make more.

Please.

Nothing we have seen of the DCEU so far leads us to think the three new characters as they are now, and I include WW as well, are the powerhouses at Cav-El's level.

So if Flashpoint really did do some kind of reset to the DCEU, how would you guys feel if Henry's Superman hooked up with Gal's Wonder Woman like they did in the New 52?

Dumb. Worthless. Not needed. Ridiculous. Pointless. Dogs$%it.

I think it's hilarious to assume that any reset of the film universe would be a New 52, rather than a Rebirth.

When it comes to films, they can basically adapt it all. There aren't many rules for the cinema superhero that need to follow a certain phase of comic books. Hell, comic worlds retcon so fast that even IF the DCEU goes full "REBIRTH" then the DC Comics "Rebirth" would likely already be wiped out before a film even comes out during that time span. I really like the term "adaption." You can adapt anything from the comics and still make a unique superhero telling of your own in cinematic form and that's what the DCEU is.

I LOVE the idea of Kal and Diana.......only because it means no more Lois!

An entire thread that's supposed to be about Henry and we can't discuss that because people still won't stop giving herolee attention.

As for Superman and WW, I give up fighting against it. Gal's WW is better all around and more compelling and I just no longer care if they put her with Supes though I still find the relationship generic.

People just won't stop giving herolee attention!

*immediately addresses the topic herolee brought up in the first place*

Perhaps I should draw a map for you of what poster and post I was referring to :

I hate Clark x Diana with the intensity of a thousand yellow suns.

I would so be down for Supes and WW to get together! :ilv:

I like Superman and Wonder Woman but only as a temporary thing. I think it worked in the comics and was something new but I don't want that to be the end game for Superman or her. I'm more accepting to a Superman Wonder Woman relationship if it is like after Lois has passed.

I doubt they'll have Superman and Wonder Woman together since they've established a relationship with Lois.

It's more likely we'll see some kind of flirtation between Bruce and Diana.

None of them discussing the never ending Superman's role in JL?

Sawyer's post is referring to the fact that herolee is the one who brought up the Supes/WW romance for this discussion a few pages back. But we get it, it was unintentional.

Let's get the discussion back to Henry/Supes and not herolee.

Speaking of Henry, if we ever see him suit up as Superman after JL, then I hope that we'll finally get a promotional shot of him looking like this, with his hair styled in a similar fashion to what it was in TMFU.

That would look better with a moustache.

That spit-curl is definitely for the film. Bank on it.

Bank on nothing.
