Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - Part 11

That was my 1st thought when I saw this picture. I like her a lot. I'm not a fan of Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Not one bit. But what's done is done sadly. :csad:

Not even as Lois Lane in a bathtub? :)

I was kinda put off by the idea at first, but came around. I think she could do really good with a little more to work with in future films

Here's some ideas I had for Superman going forward in the DCEU, after Justice League.

The next solo MOS film should have Brainiac as the bad guy. A cosmic, sci-fi heavy adventure mixed with personal stakes with Clark and Lois upping their relationship (maybe a marriage, seeing as how he was about to propose before the events of BvS).
Injustice-2-Brainiac.jpg

His rivalry with his archnemesis can't be forgotten, however. I have a feeling the events of BvS and JL will shape Luthor into more of the controlled and patient mastermind we've seen in other stories. As such, with his knowledge of Superman's secrets Luthor could be an overarching villain over more than one film, in MOS 3 Luthor can create Metallo as an exploitation of the kryptonite that nearly killed Superman in BvS

Finally, an adaptation of the Public Enemies storyline would bring Superman and Luthor's rivalry to a head. Luthor obviously won't be president in the DCEU after being exposed the way he was in BvS, so perhaps he could blackmail the president or find ways to brainwash him to do his dirty work. In a mix between Public Enemies and the recent Rebirth arc where Luthor tries to become a new Superman, Luthor could build himself a battlesuit and try to take Superman's place while Superman is turned into a fugitive.
Then we would finally get a no-holds-barred showdown between the two arch-foes.

simplicity is the key. your story is like a trilogy. for a movie, it is just too many to stuff in.

Unless Henry's Superman is scheduled to have some kind of supporting role in "Shazam", I think the earliest that we can expect to see him again would be in 2021 after JL, which is like 4 years away.

what for??? if his isn't popular, WB will go for a reboot which is more potential and lucrative. some more he is free and no contract anymore.

you can have your hope in the reboot.

It's not that other people's opinions matter so much....generally speaking, I've tended to always agree with the verdicts that most reviewers have had on these films at times. I don't think there has ever been an instance where a lot of people liked a film that I didn't like; hence why I didn't list my enjoyment of the film as a potential factor.

I think the biggest reason why I just want a Superman film where most people can enjoy it without controversy is because I'm tired of having to go through the days where we had to constantly defend on why we liked something.

lee... That is still literally taking other people's opinion on something as a factor of your own opinion. Not just a factor but you expressed it as the biggest reason.

without controversy???

watch BvS again. herolee.

"Is it really surprising that the most powerful man in the world should be a figure of controversy?"
the fans themselves are split. lol

Brainiac is a MUST for any future stand alone Superman film, for me.

The woman who should've been Lois!!!:cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad:

Rachel or Jessica Chastain, I'm sure both could have given Lois a personality without turning her into a b@%*+ like Kidder did. Actually Jessica has played 2 characters who remind me of Lois in 0D30 and The Martian

I love Jessica Chastain, but I do not see her as Lois at all.

Amy Adams is still a good Lois.

Had a lot more to do in MOS than in BvS, hopefully her cameos in Justice League are good.

I'd love to see what more of a role she plays in future MOS films.

Hopefully none, if they need a damsel they should just introduce jimmy properly.

if we have future MOS films, her role will be significant for sure...

question is do we have future MOS films?

I'm not opposed to Amy Adams and like her as an actress. I think she does a decent job as Lois, but I don't think she knocks it out of the park by any means. She's not really 'miscast' but I think there were other actresses who may have been more suitable.

My personal pick was always Michelle Monaghan, but can't see it happening now, she's 41 so by time Lois is ever recast she'll be mid to late 40s (likely). IMO she looks like comic Lois brought to life, and anyway who saw her in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang will know she can do the fiery/spunky thing very well.

Little piece of trivia: The voice of the soldier that orders Jor-El to "surrender the codex" is in fact none other than Henry Cavill.

It appears so. :D I don't know how we never noticed before.

The year 2008:

"Unless Christian's Batman has some role in JL: Mortal, I think the earliest that we can expect to see him again would be in 2012, which is like four years away."

Between 2013 and 2017 we will have seen Superman on screen three times in four years.

Well, we'll have seen a character named Clark Kent in a costume generally looking like the right one. Whether that character actually had the *character* of Superman? Highly arguable.

Or, lots of bad appearances are not better than zero appearances.

That's awesome.

Whether you agree with the characterisation or if it doesn't fit your idealised version of the character it's still that character.

Oh, no I wasn't saying all of that should be one movie!

Each premise and villain would be its own movie. Brainiac in one, Metallo in the second and Luthor in the third.

Geez man...

Pretty good call. I've always felt like Teri Hatcher was the most Lois-y Lois we've seen in live action. I don't get much of a Lois vibe from Amy Adams, although I do enjoy her performances.

So i was looking at the superman pop on Superherostuff.com and they have an interesting description of the toy...

Potential spoilers ahead

Hurry, Superman! The Justice League needs you -- and so does Batman, but he'll never admit to it.

The Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Flash figures are barely holding their own against invading Parademons and an axe-wielding Steppenwolf. If only Superman -- in Funko figure form -- was here...

LOOK! UP IN THE SKY! Is that...is that Superman?? IT IS! It's the Superman Justice League Movie Funko Pop Vinyl Figure and it resurrected itself moments before Steppenwolf skewered Wonder Woman with a hefty chunk of Venezuela!

Measuring 4" high, this soft-vinyl, ridiculously cute and crouching Superman caricature is based on his appearance in DC's cinematic superhero opus, Justice League.

The detail here is flawless. Light blue accents line Superman's sleeves and waist, layering a laboriously patterned costume indented with miniature S-shield symbols.

With a plastic curling cape, red, patterned boots, and a punch currently initiating tectonic seizures, our Superman vinyl figure is absolutely the League's heavy artillery.

Interesting tidbit.

Anyone ever notice or discuss why the codex skull is so Neanderthal and tiny looking like a monkey skull ?

I watched MOS last night and thought the exact same thing!

Maybe it's the earliest, best preserved sample of Kryptonian DNA?

With it containing "the genetic information of a billion Kryptonian refugees" (paraphrasing), I'd assume the Codex was artificially made.
