Flying foxes are as cute as hell. Like chihuahuas with wings.

You know, something has been weighing on my mind about this scene/moment for the last few days.

A part of me believes that this is probably around the time where the rest of the group (JL) go off to the destination where the final battle will take place, hence Alfred's "let's hope that you're not too late".

Yet, others have brought up a interesting point that if Batman and company went off to what will presumably be the biggest challenge that they have yet to face (especially when the fate of the world hangs in the balance) then Alfred would be sitting next to the computer working on communications for the group as opposed to simply working on one of Bruce's automobiles.

It's because of that little note that makes it so confusing as to when this scene could possibly take place in the film. Not to mention, I don't think Superman's sonic boom in the sky could cause Alfred's cup to tremble like that. If Superman simply landed hard on the ground next to Alfred, then you would see some air and dirt hitting against Alfred.

I'm really of two minds on this.

1. It's as presented in the trailer. Superman goes to the lake house as part of some strategy that Bruce has developed and which Alfred is aware of.

As you stated though there are some weird inconsistent details that would seem to work against that theory. Why, in the middle of a world ending crisis is Alfred taking the time to work on one of Bruce's antique cars? Which is why I think it may also be...

2. A HUGE misdirect. Not actually a moment from the end battle or any action sequence. I might even think it's some kind of lead in to a comedic moment at the very end, perhaps even the first official meeting of the JL and Superman is literally doing something like, I don't know, flying the meeting table to Mount Justice etc.

You know, I hadn't even thought about option #2 as a potential scenario. That would definitely be one heck of a way to lead into the closing of the film...where Superman decides to officially join the newly established JL at the end of the film.

Cute, but why would there be vibrations in the glass if Supes is just hovering there... :o

:D I wanted to make the gif play in reverse actually. Having him hovering there then "super-land" (like before the fight with Batman) and then show the ripples in Alfred's glass. Wasn't sure how to make the landing, so I gave up.

Eh, you tried bravely...good enough...

I wonder if that bat likes pizza.

EDIT: Wrong thread

If I had to guess, its two unrelated scenes and/or dialog edited together. Its not like this is unknown for trailers.

Yeah, I don't think trying to minutely dissect that part of the trailer makes sense.

It feels very choppy to me, like we are seeing something that has been heavily edited and pieced together. Odd sound effects also, which may be specific to the trailer.

Watched WHATEVER WORKS. My daughter laughed at Evan Rachel Wood having to decide whether or not to dump Larry David for Henry Cavill.

Its defs the same scene. But yeah I think those bionic sounds aren't a part of the film

I hope if Sup shows up as a mentor for Shazam, he teaches him the lessons referring to the experiences he had from MOS, e.g. Taking the fight to unpopulated area, serving justice without killing because it will haunt you forever like Zod who turned into Doomsday, or be a guilt you carry etc, and maybe they show during the battle Shazam dodges a truck thrown towards him then Sup blocks it before it hits another building then looks at Shazam sternly for a quick second...just ties up the universe and also utilizes Sup's own stories that's already there.

Good idea

I would hope Superman would teach Billy that killing an enemy may be the only way to serve justice if there are no other options available. To always look for another way, but to know that killing can be necessary if there isn't another way. Superman should teach Billy that sometimes there aren't easy answers or simple solutions that free you from haunting guilt or sadness. He should teach him one doesn't become a perfect superhero overnight or ever. There will be mistakes. You will get things wrong. What a superhero does is learn from his or her mistakes. A superhero finds ways to make the world and all of its demands and stresses manageable by relying on friends and the people that make it all worthwhile.

All great lessons that Clark had to learn the right way, especially killing (IMO written poorly for the sake of creating drama) because while human beings are sometimes forced to kill superhuman beings like superman and shazam with their near infinite powers should always explore other options.
Another great lesson would be to stop moping because life is short and you'll never know when a silly, cave troll looking monster will kill you.

What other options do you know, without a doubt, Superman had available to him in that moment that could have saved every single member of that family from dying a horrible death? Superman killed Mxy in "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" and Superman killed Zod in Superman II. Superman is no stranger to killing if necessary. Wonder Woman has "near infinite powers," and she killed German soldiers and Ares. Seems like hypocrisy to me. Superman shouldn't teach Billy to put amoral and unjust "no kill" codes or rules above innocent life. Superman shouldn't teach Billy he should never kill because there's always going to be a better way. Sometimes there isn't. And it is better to be prepared for that reality than to fill a child's head with beautiful lies and fairy tales. Neither served Bruce or Diana well, in the end.

Another great lesson would be to stop moping because life is short and you'll never know when a silly, cave troll looking monster will kill you.

Life is too short to sublimate, repress, and swallow one's natural and perfectly acceptable feelings to make other people more comfortable with emotional expression. Life is too short to judge or recriminate oneself for feeling grief, guilt, anxiety, depression, or sadness for things that warrant those feelings. Life is too short to let those feelings stop one from helping people or from choosing to endure the nightmares of life anyway. Life is too short to let other people tell you how or what to feel.

Wrong thread and I say this because I can see how this is going to turn into yet another MOS discussion where you write essays to prove your points so if you want to do so then go to the MOS board.

Superman killing however is a relevant thread since it's about superman and not specifically about MOS so I'll answer that part.
Superman didn't kill Zod in superman II while in Whatever happened he killed Mxy accidentally since his plan was to banish him to the phantom zone not kill him and superman quit at the end of the story because he understood that a being with his abilities killing is unforgivable.

And life's too short to mope like a little b***h when you look like a GQ model, have an attractive, intelligent gf, a loving mother and near god like powers.
