Justice League Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - - - - - Part 15

Not having the black suit on Supes is more evidence of the studio not having a clue. Even more shocking that Zack didn't intend to have Superman in it either. Zack is great at pulling sourced material and he's the same guy who went full on Dark Knight Returns armor for BvS. I thought the black suit was going to be automatic. There's so many epic elements that are so obvious that should have been. But it is what it is.

Zack may have originally intended it, but that might've been an early changed forced by the Kevin & Geoff cabal. Who knows. Didn't Henry even Instagram a close-up of the suit in b&w? Unless we run into Zack and ask him off the record, we won't know for certain.

I like how people are pretending that this is the first time we've seen the black suit.

He wore it for an entire scene in MAN OF STEEL.

I'm kinda glad it was cut. It would be wasteful to show that suit as only an easter egg. It sucks we didn't get Superman kicking ass in it, but I prefer to have nothing over this lame wink at the fans.

True, if he doesn't wear it don't show it.

Another reason I don't want to see it, it was already used in a previous movie.

Remember this behind the scenes video from 2016 ? It showed Snyder with Cavill in Superman costume while discussing how to separate the Motherboxes in the third and final scene of the movie.

I'm not gonna judge this scene good or bad until we see the full scene in a couple of days.

maybe the cyborg/silas apartment stuff also?

Yeah I was thinking that too. I remember the actor who played Silas said they did some reshoots to make Cyborg's past lighter....I think...
I don't really see where those reshoots are a part from the ending with the new suit. Maybe Silas died in Zack's version or something.

That's what I assumed when I saw him crying in that first trailer

Like BN said, Supes should have worn it in some capacity and actually kick all the a#@ he could of in it. Though we've seen it, it would have been great to see it in motion.

Yeah, it's hard to believe Zack didn't at point have atleast a consideration for it to be used in live action. If that one VFX team member that spilled the beans on the forums at one point was to be believed, he said even Zack had no intention on having the black suit be worn. I was dead wrong though. I thought the black suit was going to be the very first thing everyone thought of to use in Supes' story in JL lol.

The whole fight scene at Star labs was cut, I suppose something happens there.

In Whedon's version, Dr. Silas Stone survives (and I'm glad he did, we don't need to lose another Star Labs scientist dead after losing Dr. Hamilton in MoS)

I don't like that JL is the first DCEU movie where barely anyone dies. Only a few Amazons and a random scientist.

That's better than pointless death scene shown in Avengers : AoU, where Whedon killed Quicksilver for no reason.

I just liked that characters died. It raised the stakes. In mos it was Dr Hamilton, Colonel Hardy, Faora, Zod, Jor-el, all of the Kryptonians, Pa Kent, a bunch of soldiers, countless civilians... I'm probably missing some.

In BVS it was Wallace Keefe, Mercy, Finch, everyone else in the court house, Jimmy Olsen, Anatoli Knyazev, Jack and everyone else in Wayne tower, all those people in the knightmare, all the people in the batmobile chase, the lady that got thrown under a subway train, all the people in the African village, Martha and Thomas Wayne, The inmate Batman branded, Doomsday and even Superman himself.

In SS it was Slipknot, El diablo, Enchantress, Incubus, Johnny Frost, Dr Van Criss and a bunch of people who work in Van Criss labs, that dude Deadshot sniped, all those people posessed by enchantress, El diablo's wife and kids, Monster T, a bunch security guards in Arkham, all those people in the subway killed by Incubus, that random truck driver shot by Harley, those asian guys killed by Katana, Scott Eastwood's character... Probably missing some more

In WW it was Antiope, all the greek gods, Ares, Steve Trevor, Ludendorff, a bunch of german soldiers, that entire village of people that got hit with mustard gas, the guy in the gas mask killed by Dr Poison to test her formulas, the sniper tat got wrecked by Diana, that spy that ingested cyanide, that meeting room full of German military leaders...

Who dies in JL? A random scientist who gets her neck snapped, a few amazons, a Green lantern, a bunch of parademons and Steppenwolf.

I personally don’t get the obsession with the black suit. A minor cameo for it like that is fine.

???? You liked the fact that countless civilians died in MOS! I get that you want stakes but Superman is meant to save people or atleast most of them like he did in JL.

Character progression. :o

You do realize that the Superman vs JL is a Zack Snyder scene for most the part right?

Regarding the black suit, I'm personally glad that it wasn't in the movie because it was a stupid concept in a gimmicky storyline. The only reason superman emerged from the FOS with a mullet, a black suit and then later on a pair of rifles was for the writers to get the 'superman as a bad-ass punisher type' crap out of their system and it served no purpose in the story it self.

I did. I just didn't like that Superman didn't really have any substantial reaction to it.

I've never been someone interested in the black suit or the beard so it's failure to appear doesn't bother me.

I, personally, didn't have any need to see the black suit. I think it's much more symbolic that when Superman makes his triumphant return he returns in his red and blues. Plus the group shot would look...off with Superman in a black outfit, with a beard no less. I think it was visually and symbolically important for Superman to look like SUPERMAN when he comes back.

The black suit in JL never felt like it would've made sense, given how it had been used the first time around. It wouldn't have been symbolic of a de-powered Supes recovering from death -- it would've been a throwback to a what-if scenario where Superman's brainwashed and pro-Krypton/anti-Earth. Even if it had been used to portray an evil Superman, there would've been no point in establishing that link to the 90s Return storyline when the use for that specific visual was so different.
