Justice League Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - - - - - - - - - Part 19

Too bad Warner Bros isnt willing to sell the rights to Superman's character to Disney. Maybe they could fix him as well.haha

Did you have one of them happy but bitter laughs filled with crying at the end?

It's interesting to note that both Superman and Flash appear on CW shows and both are finding it difficult to get their solo movies going.

Wasn't there a report saying Hoechlin won't be returning anytime soon?

Cyborg's also being used expertly in Doom Patrol and it's not looking like he's coming back in the movies anytime soon.

So by that logic, we won't be seeing a Supergirl film anytime soon?

Different circumstances. WB seems to have a very weird stance on having conflicting versions of their live-action characters (the creators of Arrow have spoken at length about being told they were not allowed to use Deathstroke in certain seasons because of the then-upcoming movie plans, and were also forced to kill off Amanda Waller, Deadshot and Captain Boomerang for the same reason), but they don't go so far as to outright cancel a TV show if it's being profitable. In addition to being a dumb financial move it seems like a good way to ensure your movie is going to have some easily avoidable ill-will against it from the start.

That Doom Patrol is allowed to use Cyborg and that Deathstroke is confirmed to be coming to Titans season 2 when plans for those characters on film have seemingly fallen by the wayside doesn't seem like a coincidence, to me.

saw a few clips of doom patrol's cyborg and looks like joivan wade seems to be doing a very good job - along with the writing + quirkiness of the show, it seems to work.

and it's a different portrayal from how fisher played the character.
joivan's version seems to have been cyborg for a longer while - so he's now more upbeat.

Yeah, he's been a hero for longer, identifies himself as a hero (in contrast to the Doom Patrol), has met Superman and others, etc.

Personally, though, I do find him to be the weak link on the show. The other actors nail their portrayals (the actress for Rita is really good); Cliff Steele is great at being the audience stand in as his reactions are basically what any of us would say in these really bizarre situations, and he's the heart of the show; Crazy Jane is a hard character to pull off, but the actress does it really well; and Matt Bomer is Matt Bomer, which is to say, he's good. He's actually my least favorite of the Doom Patrol characters in the show initially just because his portrayal is often very low key and he just doesn't want to be there (the character, not the actor), but he's growing on me.

But with Cyborg, I just don't feel the actor. He's fine and all, but I think he over-emotes, imo, so it's like I can't help but see the actor rather than the character.

Still, this show is amazing and I was so not expecting that. And the music is great.

Generally, I love Cyborg, but I'm not that fond of his portrayal on Doom Patrol. And I think you nailed the reason why: he doesn't fit with the rest of the show. It's like he's a character on a DCTV/CW show while everyone else is doing something a little more, I don't want to say nuanced, but dark/quirky?

I agree with both of you about cyborg, but I do think that they will give him his due in upcoming episodes. It looks like they're still kind of sowing seeds in there. Overall, I find the series good. I do enjoy the quirkiness and CJ/Cliff are the standouts for me.
The, "what the ****" moments are getting a little old.

Some of the humor is a little hit or miss and Tudyk's lines are starting to grate on me a little. *ducks*

Yeah, he’s got a real charm to him.

I think they're going for a "He's using humor/charisma to mask pain" thing with Cyborg on DOOM PATROL. The actor sort of almost pulling it off.

I think the writing for Cyborg has been fine. I think it's more the acting.

It's like the difference between Sam and Dean on Supernatural. I love both characters, but Jensen Ackles is just a much better actor, imo. He really knows how to handle nuance and I truly feel whatever he is emoting because it's all internal. With Jared Padalecki ("what's a Padalecki?"), I like Sam just because Padalecki is likable, but his acting is more external so it's more obvious that he's acting. He often doesn't nail those emotional moments because it doesn't feel natural and he has little range. I did think he nailed a certain scene on the 300th episode that I didn't think he was capable of, though.

Okay, I don't know how I made this about Supernatural.

Rip Supernatural -.-

15 seasons is quite a feat.

What? I didn't even know that. I just googled it. I didn't even realize that when I brought it up. So weird.

I think it's still CW's highest rated show. That's amazing. And to think, in the early years, it wasn't a given that they would greenlight the following season. Behold the power of syndication.

And this is still one of the best scenes I've ever seen on TV.

That's still The Flash by a wide (for CW) margin.

I never cared for Supernatural, but I'm in shock that it's ending. Its ratings were always very strong for the network, and that's an impressive thing to maintain for 15 seasons. I was beginning to think it would never end, like the Simpsons or something, lol.

I do agree that Wade is the weak part of Doom Patrol, but only because all the other main cast has been amazing. I’ve never been a cyborg guy, but Wade has done a good job.

Hopefully the plan is to eventually bring him over to Titans, where he should be.

To kinda bring it back to topic, I’m excited for Superboy in Titans

You're right. Flash is 1 (by about 50% it seems). Supernatural is 4th. What's crazy is that in the article I read about the show ending, it briefly mentions a few other renewed CW shows, including Charmed. So Supernatural around during one show and its reboot.
