Justice League Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - - - - - - - - - Part 19

I want to know something, what's the opinion here..

This is probably the final version of Superman costume which Nicolas Cage was going to wear as Superman.

Is this the same costume (though slightly modified one) that Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill were wearing at the time of their screen-test for Superman Flyby (2004) ?

Or, is it this one ?

All I'll say is...oof.

Thank god for Wilkinson.

Nic would have been a hit for mid-2000 , what a waste

That wasn't the final suit that Cage www going to wear, they never got it finalised. That was close to what it would have been but it was still a mock up suit.

It's not the same suit as the Flyby suits, which if you look at the model version is different to the suit both Cavill and a Routh are wearing. The suit Cavill and Routh are wearing is actually a really nice suit and I'm sure when finished would have looked fantastic on screen.

So, the suit Routh and Cavill are wearing is a completely different suit that we have never seen fully ? That's what I suspected too.

What is that torso & chest one?

Was it a flyby mock up or early returns prototype?

Yeah.

Would be great to see those screen tests.

Flyby mock up, but it's unsure if that was the final design or an earlier one.

Yeah.

It's crazy to think that both Routh and Cavill screen tested for the part both played Superman and now we are here back to square one.. with no plan in place for another Superman movie and no idea who will be playing Superman next.

I know it's frustrating.

Still at least we'll be getting a live action Superman on our screens before the end of the year and the Death of Superman is selling like hot cakes.

Great krypton them suits are fugly, I mean honestly they're only slightly better than the SR returns suit, which looked like someone's poor Halloween joke.
As much as I hated the DCEU superman, I have to admit that the MOS suit was and is perfection, I just wish DC would've made it the official suit for animation, TV, movies and comics but alas.

As Batman armor? Maybe. Superman. Probably not

Are we sure Tim Burton didn't want to live through Nic Cage? Cage looks a heck of a lot like Tim Burton in this photo

so did they explain how clark kent came back to life in JL ? i remenber the newspaper in BVS sayin he lost his life in metropolis...

WB got alot to do , to explain this mess.

With recent events in the headlines likely no Batman for awhile too.

Place your bets:

Over or under 60% that Henry continues as Superman?

Right now I'm gonna say under and I even think we might not hear about it until next year.

:funny:

In all seriousness though Cage was going to wear a wig in the film, that wasn't going to be his hair.

I think a Supergirl movie instead of a Superman movie would be a nice change of pace. They've been trying and trying to push Superman on us and it hasn't really been working since "Superman 2"

A movie with a female lead would do wonder's(no pun intended) in this time and day.

Whilst I do agree that a Supergirl mcoie in the current climate is a bit of a no brainer. I don't think you can say that about Superman, the reason it hasn't worked since Superman II are a few reasons:

- Superman III and beyond the film's we've gotten have either been bad or divisive. They haven't given the majority what they want and that's because:
- WB movie division are pretty incompetent with the character and seem to think they have to make Superman by using other movie trends rather than just making a damn Superman movie.

So bearing those two things in mind, it's clear that Superman just needs a damn good movie rather than WB containing to make bad decisions with the movies direction.

Hopefully but it's gone very quiet and this is WB they don't always rush.

My hope for Henry as Supes is going up against my logic in front of us.

My logic says to wait 2-3 years and introduce a brand new Superman in a Supergirl movie. You kill two birds with one stone right there, fam. But some of you bald bastahs will say, ''but they can do it with Henry too'' and I'm sure they could, just not sure they want to.

I think they want to they just don't want to pay Henry what he wants. It's one of those situations where there's a limit they'll go to.

If things fall through, I don’t think either side would be to blame. I can see both perspectives having valid concerns in capitulating to the other party.

WB can’t spend too much on an actor which so far hasn’t guaranteed them overwhelming success on their A-list property. And for Cavill’s part, I’m sure he doesn’t want to be saddled with another crop of films which could permanently derail his career if that hole is dug even further.

Probably best for both to part ways. They may even be stronger for it.

It is? Good to know.
