Justice League Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - - - - - - - - - Part 19

Amy sees the handwriting on the wall just like everyone else. So she's gone barring a sudden change of heart by WB.

Breh, I get that folks still want to blame WB, but it is Cavill who refused the Shazam cameo. Why continue with the same Lois, if your Superman doesn't want to be a team player? That cameo would surely give you and your team the upper hand in negotiations, but he and his team refused, not a good look. For all the stuff Batfleck has gone through personally, he will always have a home at WB for that reason alone, he is a team player.

I'm not blaming WB. When I speak of WB's change of heart I'm referring to their position of moving on from Henry after the difficult negotiations. Not privy to the exact details of these negotiations, I've always stated that I believe Henry's camp overplayed their hand, including placing too much of their bargaining power in his Mission Impossible appearance.

At this point it looks like Ben will probably stick around and not Henry. I love both in their respective roles. Sucks. I think it would be much different if we had gotten snyders JL.

Superman films have been lot more successful compared to JL movie, If they look at pure numbers, MoS and BvS were moderate hits compared to JL, which tanked.

Given a choice, between making a Superman movie or a JL movie or a GL movie, I think they will always choose a Superman movie.

Yes, Superman movies made more money, but JL got bigger potential.

If the want to make a new JL they got 4 options.

1. Use the same cast.

2. Make a movie without Superman and/or Batman.

3. Recast Superman and/or Batman.

4. Reboot the entire DCEU.

Aquamans success kills option 4 for a long time. 2 is bad and 3 is the worst.

Announce JL 2 with Wan as the director and the hype will be insane.

I’ve got a feeling JL2 with Wan could definitely happen. Add Shazam to the team. You can do Darkseid and the Furies or Legion of Doom. Plenty of stuff to choose from.

Ben’s done man I don’t think he’ll be back at all.

I do agree with your Snyder comment though. WB reshooting what they did practically wasted money they would have been better just accepting Snyder’s vision as the characters would have ended up where they did anyway by the end.

If the movie does well, why wouldn't they include them in a team ?
Because Skwad still makes more sense than the street-level heroes who now suddenly have to take on otherworldly threats.

I'm not expecting any sort of plot that'd be connected to whatever was being planned before. In fact if Cavill and Adams are out, I seriously doubt they plan to continue the Legion of Doom subplot with Jesse Eisenberg's Luthor (who never had the same level of fan and audience goodwill that Cavill achieved).

If they do eventually do a second JL movie, I'd love to see someone like Vandal Savage or Starro tho.

I’ve made peace with the overall situation.

The one thing that softens the blow most is that great characters like Aquaman and Captain Marvel are finally getting their well deserved time in the spotlight.

if i could, i would upload the lex luthor 'wrong' meme. it's just cash to them.

It’s a shame that the Legion of Doom looks like it is being dropped cause it was something we haven’t seen on the big screen with a group of different super villains teaming up to take on a group of heroes.

Maybe we could still do it, just with someone else as the leader. Cheetah, Black Manta and Black Adam would be dope together.

We're not getting another Superman movie at the very least until the next 15-20 years. And that's only hopefully so.

I've made peace with the fact that WB does not give one single crud about the character and would just rather keep him in limbo forever rather than find a director who loves the character to make a reboot.

I'm just feeling very pessimistic about the whole thing.

lol if there's actually cash to be made, lowest profit on the highest budget, a few core JL members should be enough

I don't think it's pessimistic at all to think that. More like realistic. The fact of the matter is that the success of Aquaman, Shazam, Wonder Woman, and even BOP will have no effect on whether we get a new superman movie off the ground.

I think we just need to accept the very possibility that Superman's time on film is done and that we are in for another 20 year wait.

And the sadder thing is that even though Warner Bros have no intentions of using superman on film again, they still won't allow him to have his own televisn series.

I agree with all you've said here, although I think that last point may change.

Superman always returns to TV, if we have to wait 15-20 years (we won’t) for another Superman movie I guarantee you he’ll be back in his own series in that time.

Yes, admittedly 15 - 20 years does seem a bit long. I wouldn't be surprised if it took 10 though.

I don't think it's going to be 15-20 years. If Supergirl happens, there will eventually be a new cinematic Superman in that timeline. I'm thinking 6-7 years.
