Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - Part 7

I always thought it was a mistake that they used Cavill instead of Sprayberry for that scene. No matter how much they change his hair or he pitches up his voice, he still looks 30. An aged-up Sprayberry would've sold the intended punch behind the scene a lot more.

Maybe, but I liked seeing Cavill flex his acting chops. I can see where you're coming from though. But yeah, best to just move on from this like my man Tra-El suggested.

Does you doing that save a bunch of kids from certain death and causes you no harm?

Pretty sure Clark being taken away by the govt and being experimented on or whatever, counts as harm. Nevermind the consequences of humanity finding out there is an alien amongst them. All this for a 12 year old kid.

My point was, all Jonathan wanted, was the best for his kid. Somethings are bigger than our lives and the lives around us. Sometimes there are no easy answers. Thats real life, not comicbook black and white morality.

This isn't real life, this is a movie. About a comic book character. Who was told by his dad that maybe it was okay to let a bunch of freakin' kids die a horrible death.

Anyway moving on...

Have you guys seen Henry with his longer hair on the set of Nomis? Is that a wig? Because he doesnt look like he is balding anymore.

LOL I wish there was a common thread for the DCEU, where you could discuss anything about it on that thread.

I think he grew it out and combed it a bit forward, with maybe some concealer work done.

And I like a movie that explores real life consequences. Just like recently Logan did. Not all movies have to be about escapism.

Yeah if you ignore all the context, sure.

someone should explain the advice he got from his dad in BVS. was he reliving that moment from his past? perhaps remembering some old advice his dad gave him.

or

Can supes talk to the dead?

Yeah that's when you know it's best to just keep it moving.

That was a representation of Clark's own internal dialogue.

Yes, excellent template for a Superman movie.

I'm open to Superman movies, that asks difficult questions, and isnt afraid to go into adult themes. I think subscribing to only one template for a character is the death of creativity. Lets just agree to disagree then.

it was more of clark remember old advice from his dad with his own brain playing out that way to him. si its like clark doesn't do anything with someone telling him. so his own brain had to trick him to become active

Let's see, if Superman could speak to the dead, I don't think this would be the first time we would see this new power in action. If this was the first time Clark had spoken to the dead, then I would have expected him to be more shocked that he was able to see and speak to his dead father. It seems more likely that Clark was just thinking of something his father used to say because it was on his mind in the moment. A near carbon copy of this scene aired in the tenth season premiere of Smallville.

Sure, I guess the scene could be whatever you want it to mean, as well. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

I'm still confused on that. Was Clark hallucinating? or remembering previous advice his dad had given him?

I remember Spiderman 2 doing something similar?

yes youre right. right before he gave up been spider-man. i think it was handled better in sm2. you could easily tell it was a like a dream, like in his head same with his powers not working. just my opinion.

It's only confusing if you entertain the least likely and least plausible explanations that have no prior build up or context.
