BvS Henry Cavill IS Superman - - - - - - Part 20

I really hope that Superman has a scene with Lex where he's like flying/hovering outside of Lex's office, similar to the Animated Series/Comics.

I also hope that Jessie's Lex turns out to be one sick psycho path, in the same level of Kilgrave from "Jessica Jones" (for those that have already watched it, you'll know what I'm talking about).

I really want Henry's Superman to have some of the best villains when it comes to their characterizations and portrayals.
Didn't Lois and Clark do that scene first?

That sort of thing was common in the comics LONG before L/C was on the air. It's origins are the immediate post crisis books by Byrne and then the Carlin creative teams. It happened quite a bit and no doubt L/C was cribbing from the vastly superior books.

lol there was a lot of lense flare in this trailer.

Such excellent Superman shots in that trailer. Happy fan over here!
Every shot of Superman in the trailers so far has been flat out gorgeous. The colors on the suit really pop out, and I especially loved in the Gotham teaser when even in the dark, the S shield is still bright as day. Superman is the hope in the darkness!

I'm glad you are . He was awesome in this trailer as he was in the previous ones. Really impressed by his development and can't wait to see how it goes about.

Henry looks great, but not enough like the classical Superman from the old movies and TV Shows, which is going to upset many people.

I new most of this movie would have him in the dark and I must say this suit is by far the most beautifully designed and photographed ever!

I totally agree. Cavill has definitely warmed up and looks and sounds great and very comfortable in what has been shown. Extremely happy he's bringing our Supes to life right now.

They have had close to three years to get over it. Sorry, but people in public should KNOW what this version of Superman looks like by now and have processed it. MOS made over $600 million... that's quite bit of fans that already know what they are getting.

I have to disagree to some extent.

I think Henry actually has a very classic and timeless supes aura about him. He's classically handsome in a manner that isn't just Supermanly, but reminiscent of old Hollywood actors. His voice and mannerisms are quintessential superman. Strong and steady. Even his suit, as sculpted as it is, has many of the classic elements (albeit enhanced in some cases).

The divergence from "the classics" comes from some of his actions, but his general physicality and vibe are timelessly superman (IMO).

Is it weird that I like his Clark Kent more than his Superman? His Clark Kent is just familiar and likeable. I love his Superman it's one of the best portrayals since Reeve imo. But, his Clark Kent, I REALLY like the way he portrays the reporter. Just feels, comfortable.

I especially love that last shot. Lens flare and all. :woot:

I think it would be interesting to see gif comparisons of this "lift" shot from each of the three trailers. It might show how much work might still be being done on the film as I think there are a lot of details that have been changed and tweaked from the teaser trailer to now.

I liked the polite but still interrogative manner he had when talking to Bruce. It wasn't really all that hostile or aggressive; he sounds honestly curious and calm. Bruce gets in some intentional shots, while Clark seems to actually be the bigger man there.

I can't wait for the context of that scene. Cavill so great at emotive acting, and this feels like a lot more to me than just the verbal confrontation. It could be Clark revealing he knows who Bruce is, or it could be him maybe trying to defuse their upcoming confrontation in some way.

Watching how he plays both real Superman and the cloned evil Superman (possibly) Bizarro will be interesting.

That's similar to my take away.

I think they both are well aware of the other's secrets at this point. I think this is after Superman's first encounter (though not necessarily the first "fight") with Batman. So, he's taken a peek under the mask. Bruce as well has either deduced the ID of Supes or is, frankly, not an idiot and sees through the glasses. The dialog they have is knowing stuff. I agree, Clark is trying to be dispassionate and rational in his arguments while Bruce is being a borderline asshat bigot... And surprisingly that kinda works for me, even though I HATE *****ebag Batman. Here, I get whats happening and even see Bruce's points on some things, even if it's WAY over the line that he compares Superman to the Joker. But that's it... that's a GREAT way to show how Bruce is operating not on total rationality but on emotion. As for Lex? I think he has them both bamboozled with his public fidgety nerd persona. Our heroes are too blinded by their conflict to literally see the threat standing in front of them.

Not liking how the trailers are selling this movie as Batman vs Superman the villain rather than hero vs hero.

A lot of focus is given to Batman and his vendetta against Superman but next to nothing of Supermans motivations and anything outside of his power display
