Not sure why people have such a hard time with him. I hated MOS but not due to Henry’s portrayal. And I don’t find him wooden either- it’s true he’s not given much to do in this movie and doesn’t really get explored like he should but I don’t think that any of that reflect on him. I think people will blame that on what he was given.

To me he looked much more comfortable and at home this time around- and he’s just a beautiful man and looks great on screen.

When people talk about problems- I would exempt him cuz he’s doing just fine!

I hated how

After the Senate explosion, he just stands there amid the fire with a look on his face that all but says "Gosh darnit!"

Awful scene.

You mean when he's crying?

Can't get over his delivery on that line.
:(
"You are my world." The sad smile. He looked defeated yet happy she was going to live.
Truly heartbreaking.

Even although I suspected it was coming when Doomsday showed up in the second (?) trailer, the way Henry and Amy (Ben and Gal too - especially Diana's compassionate look as she turned to Lois) played those scenes out was perfect. Although as I said previously the happy Clois scenes were my favourite parts of the film, to finally get those scenes only to have one of the most heartbreaking moments in Clois history in the same film was bittersweet to say the least.

This wasn't a solo Superman film, so sure, it's understandable Superman had to share screen time, bearing in mind each character is also split into 2.

I was happy that we saw Superman as a hero - sure we may not have gotten the exact details of each rescue, but that is for another day. We saw him show compassion to Bruce, we saw the conflicted ideals of trying to help and things just go wrong, we saw daily planet clark - it wasn't a great film, but it wasn't a bad film.

Honestly, i would have preferred to see him look around, wanting to help but knowing it's too late - but i get why he looked so defeated, he knew at that one moment, he couldn't explain or get out of it, it was one thing after another, the Zod invasion, africa, everyone against him. I would have preferred a speech by Supes with the live cameras rolling for the world to see.

Worst portrayal of Superman yet on film. Cavill shows very little acting range, comes off wooden so many times, and gets acted off the screen by Ben Affleck. Clark felt like a mopey stoic character who spent the movie brooding and self doubting himself. He was so depressing, and felt like the antithesis of who Superman is. I also thought his chemistry with Lois was really lacking in this one. What ever he had with Adams in MOS fizzled out in this one.

This came up in another thread, but I'd just like to point out that Snyder and Terio made the deliberate decision to show Superman kill someone in his first scene of the movie. The terrorist who holds the gun to Lois' head is rammed through numerous walls faster than a speeding bullet (see what I did there); instead of taking the gun away from him, or flying Lois away, he rams the guy through walls.
I'm not someone who really got pissed off about Superman killing, but that goes to show how Snyder doubled down on the stuff he was criticized for previously.

It's jolting and electric when you see a post on here where you disagree with every single word another person typed haha. So fascinating to see everything as the complete and total opposite..and I'm a Superman fan lol.

Henry is doing a fine job!

Henry was amazing in BvS. He got me choke up with that ending and how he pull it off.

He didn't kill him. His hands was around him while he took him outside.

[BLACKOUT]Clark made it a point to Lois that he had nothin to do with any of the killings back at the apartment. He didn't kill.[/BLACKOUT]

The idea was where Superman goes he brought dead. That's why the capital scene took a lot out of him and it also had Batman thinking Superman is root of it all. Although before the explosion a speech would have been nice.

I feel like this was intentionally left kind of ambiguous to be honest. He says he didn't kill "those people" if I remember right. Well its true he didn't kill everyone there.....

They never said Superman killed that guy.
He did. He totally, totally did. We can pretend that he didn't, but you can't survive that. It was no different then [BLACKOUT]Bruce and the car chase, where he massacres people[/BLACKOUT].

Ok, I'm getting really tired of this.

He didn't kill him, sure he left a hole in the wall but did you see the man's flesh and brains splattered all around the place? Superman turned on his back or whatever.

Clark says it later I DIDN'T KILL ANYBODY
he freaking says it.

I will say this. I am a fan of Cavill and Amy. They script doesn't give them a lot to work with, but I felt the love.

[BLACKOUT]So how did he survive going through two brick walls[/BLACKOUT]? Exactly.

Just saying the guy didn't die, doesn't change he clearly did.

Because he didn't go through two brick walls, Superman did, he must have turned on his back or something. Was there blood? brains?

He says it, Clark says he didn't kill. Lois says "I know"
First people complain we needed to see everything on screen to believe it as a fact, when we have it we don't believe it.

did he actually say "I didn't kill anybody?" I don't remember an exact quote. I thought it was "I didn't kill those people"...which is kind of ambiguous...

I never gave a full review, I'm still scattering all my thoughts, but if there was anything that I was pleasantly surprised with, it was their relationship. The chemistry was ballin' with these two. [BLACKOUT] The balcony scene was a highlight. The dialog was up to par. Even calling her "Lo" was really nice to hear. [/BLACKOUT]

I see that like with MOS a nice bunch of the criticism that is being leveled at the film is stuff that plain didn't actually happen in the movie or is hyperbolically given the most extreme and negative spin possible. Such is fanboy.

There is no indication Superman leaves the room. None. He clearly "pushes" him.

When Clark says he didn't kill, he is specifically talking about the villagers, who are the innocents. No one is talking about him killing the merchs.

This is no different then how Batman handles the merchs. Which is when my brother almost left the theater.

You know what, I'm not gonna get into that again, even if he says "I didn't kill" and doesn't specify who, most of the movie shows you a depressed CK finding himself feeling guilty for all the collateral damage and death his existence is creating. And you still want to believe he killed that guy, fine.

Anyway, do you think Henry is gonna be wearing that funny superman mullet when he returns?

Not gonna lie, I'd like to see at least the black suit :o
