BvS Henry Cavill IS Superman - - - - - - - - - - Part 24

With Batman in the picture, I'm not confident Snyder can contain his bias. The fact Bruce is now the leading JL founder is going to lead to decisions which I fear will push Supes even more to the sidelines.

Honestly, at this point, i'm not hoping for anything more. Whatever I end up feeling like after watching this film tomorrow night, whether it be good or bad, I don't think I can ever fully trust Snyder to do what's completely right with superman's character.

The last two times that I had placed my trust in Snyder, I got so completely screwed because I had expected Snyder to do something more expected and safe with the character.

herolee, Snyder did Superman right. He did him so right. I hope you can believe in me. It would really suck if you couldn't lol, but as a worried Supes fan, I'm all in with this Supes. What a drastic change IMO in Cavill's acting chops.

Honestly, I really do believe you. I've had others, whose opinions that I trust and value, say just about the same thing.

AT this point, I'm more concerned about what happens to Superman in the big ensemble...the thing that this whole DC Cinematic Universe has been building up to.

So far, every plausible way that's been brought up here or there doesn't favor Superman's character at all.

But I'm just more freaking ticked that we have yet gotten another film with Superman where people feel mixed about him. Is SII truly going to be the last film where a majority of the GA/Fans will agree to like and be impressed with him?

Snyder doesn't like the light fun side of Superman or any character really. It's not ****ing 300, it's not ****ing Watchmen!

Can you imagine his Justice League movie? The bad sloppy editing will return, the close up camera angles, the lack of levity and fun. A bunch of Superheroes together and the tone will make a funeral look like ****ing Disney World.

Man of Steel, I can see. Clark wasn't Superman. In BvS, it's night and day in the way he was written. Every moment on screen felt dedicated to really sitting down and getting Superman right. I was expecting to be divisive over Supes. Not anymore. This was his movie at the core.

Dang. Sorry to hear Spidey! Bums me out you didn't like. I thought the fight scenes; action and third act was a blast. I had a lot of fun.

Compared to Man of Steel, I feel I can sit through BvS's 3rd act much more in tune and wanting more. I felt drained after Supe's fight with Zod.

Snyder is pretty much the only director that I can think of who loves to make Summer blockbusters feel so dark and depressing.

From what I noticed, Snyder's more interested in creating the film in post production as opposed to putting just as much time in creating a tight story and filming it properly.

It's not so much about this movie but the next film...the one that's going to really be the film that defines his role in the entire DCEU when paired up against the other heroes.

If he can't be used properly there, then I don't know what else to say.

I just don't agree Tra-El. I feel like Snyder is making Superman way, way too conflicted and morose.

I was fine with that when he was finding himself in Man of Steel but I'm just sick of it now.

Tra-El I am happy that you were satisfied with Kal-El's portrayal, I truly am.:yay:

I'm about to head off and see the movie for a second time. I wasn't impressed with how superman was given very few lines or the fact that he wasn't even given many scenes, period. I'm hoping seeing it again, now knowing what I'm expecting, might change my mind and I can just enjoy it more for what it is. Wish me luck.

Agreed. If you're going to make one of your protagonists go through that type of arc, at least fill your film with more upbeat/exciting moods and lighter visuals to compensate for it.

Too bad J.J Abrams doesn't have a passion for DC Characters/Superman.

That's fair. It can be interpreted in many ways, but for my personal honest to God feelings, I felt like Snyder hit Superman home for me. He pulled at my heart. That's what I was hoping for going into this that I wasn't expecting to receive.

I hope this does so well at the BO with good WOM like I think it will. I can't wait to see Snyder's JL. I had my doubts. He can pull it off.

Do you think BvS's tone is the right one for a Justice League movie?

Me too girlie! I was expecting to go down with the supposedly sinking ship with this Superman. Instead, it excited me even more with the direction, especially with Superman still finding his heroic beats. If he can only grow from here, then I can't wait to see where they take him next.

I hope you can find validation and happiness with the next movies, Spidey. Posters like you deserve it.

Thank you. You know I love these characters and I only say this out of love for these characters, not because I'm jumping on some bandwagon.

No, but for what it's worth Snyder has already confirmed JL will be an inherently lighter story.

He also added that it only be lighter because of the Flash not being as serious as everyone else. If that's truly the case, then I don't think the story itself will be any lighter than from what we've seen since one lighthearted character can't affect the tone for the entire film.

Do you think BvS's tone is the right one for a Justice League movie?

No, but the ending sure did seem like it's building to much brighter and hopeful things. I think BvS was totally necessary. How Bruce worded one of his lines gave me so much hope and understanding where this could be heading. JLP1 can benefit so much from the lighter tone Snyder was describing. It feels like the next natural step IMO. I believe some of the dark tones will be in place,[BLACKOUT] but not with the Trinity, atleast.[/BLACKOUT]

Just let it marinate for a bit, Spidey. I'm not saying you'll do a 180 and like it suddenly, but it might settle better with a little time. And if it doesn't...time tends to dull the pain too, lol.

If he directs it I don't see the tone getting much lighter but maybe I'll be wrong.

Mrs.Kent, did you see it?

Nope, Friday night. I'm fairly optimistic though. I haven't been avoiding any spoilers and it sounds like something I'll like overall with some grievances.

Henry was great as superman, just his clark Kent was his superman in glasses. Is the one aspect of superman that is just hard to jell without pulling a chris reeves geeky clark.
