Yeah when these behind the scenes shots started appearing, I too was surprised at how much of the stuff I thought was cgi was actually done for real. I think it could be because its all so blurry, out of focus, which would normally suggest its trying to cover the fact that it is CGI in place of real stuff.

I think if the blue piping/detail around his waist and lower back was red, it'd make the costume perfect. I like it as it is tbh though.

The Man of Steel suit is easily one of my favorite Superhero costumes but I try not to be so rigid all of the time and be open to some changes.

Thats the first belt on the MOS costume that I have seen in almost 3 years that I have liked.

But even so on principle, I would rather the suit stay as it is.

But the above is not-horrible variant for sure.

I was about to post the exact same thing. I've hated all the other belt manips, I'd look at them and think 'the briefs are gone and no belt is going to fill that gap' but this one looks really good.

I'd be surprised if they did add a belt for this film. Honestly I think the changes will be more subtle then that. A slight recolouring or an adjustment to the piping. Or perhaps something that helps with the practicality of the suit, which they learnt from after shooting for so long on MoS.

I dunno. Something about red belts always bugs me. I think because it mean a reduction of the yellow/gold in the costume and that throws off the balance in my opinion. A red belt seems like it is trying to compete too hard with the red S-shield. Whereas the yellow belt because it picks up the secondary colour in the shield seems to be more complementary in my opinion. I think it would just be best if they just upped the size of the current MOS belt.

In regards to colours, I think all of this manips with the primary, royal blue are going the wrong direction. What I would love to see is that really brilliant and slightly unnatural aqua/sky blue that we got in the Black Zero and Bank vault scenes paired with the more natural, vibrant red and gold we see in set photos before the ridiculous filters.

I don't think I've ever been content with Superman's hair on film. Something has always been off. And it really shouldn't be this way, because this was one of Henry's best features prior to his casting. He was so perfectly made up for the Superman look it was easy to see him as the character.

I find, personally, that my hair doesn't really have a set style, it's more a subtle side parting, with the fringe/bang messy and falling to one side - i guess similar in style to Ryan Gosling, for want of a better example, but i find that style looks really good when i am dressed smart, like in a shirt or suit, but not so good when i am in casual, sport clothes, and i find i have two styles depending on my dress.

That's how i see Cavill, his supes will only look good with a certain style, in the suit, too messy no good, too neat (ala Routh) and it looks false - his hair as superman is perfect, on top, the sides need to be trimmed, in order to make his face seem more square.

His naturally mesy curls as Clark is a good look, but i think he may lose that, if he cuts the sides short - it's a tough one

One problem with the New 52 suit is that with the collar and the longer sleeves extending further over his hands, it makes it even harder to imagine that Clark Kent wears this costume under his normal clothes (unless he doesn't do that anymore in the comics and I'm missing something).

^ He has a weird nanotech suit in the New 52. He just wears the S on his chest or something and the suit forms on him.

I love the New 52 suit when certain artists draw it.

But MOS suit >>>> all.

Me too. I can tolerate it only when you can barely see all the seams.

Collar's still atrocious though.
