Also, that pic is so...superman. Such a reassuring and friendly look. That whole scene in the cornfield was classic supes and Lois. Both were so in character. I really want more of that in the next movie.

Damn if this man doesn't look like Superman. Looks like he stepped right out of the comics. The only other actors who played Superman I'd say that about are George Reeves and Christopher Reeve, as they looked like the Supermen from their respective eras, just as Cavill does today.

Cavil was amazing. He was relatable in all the right ways, but he could still exude the gravitas necessary to play the role.

Meh...It's the first movie and it didn't star RDJ. I think Cavill's star will continue to rise... Hopefully the next movie has an impact like TDK.

Man of Steel was the most searched for movie of 2013 on IMDB...a lot of people liked the movie, some people didn't. Hey ho. It did well, certainly created an impact and they are making a sequel. Which hasn't happened for decades.

Henry was nominated for the best hero award, which is surely more important than a best shirtless scene award? Aside from the standard teen franchise nominees, maybe they nominated Leonardo DiCaprio over Henry because he has been around for a lot longer, is a lot more famous and has a substantially larger fan base because of this? Which = more votes, which = more buzz for MTV...?

I don't think missing out on awards always means MoS didn't succeed or people didn't connect with it in terms of pop culture. You only have to look at the buzz around the new franchise they have created to see that.

I really do think Cavill should have got a best shirtless nomination in something? I don't the criteria for judging, but he was most certainly robbed because his shirtless scene made me stand up and take recognition.

That shirtless scene got all kinds of attention. I remember lurking on tumblr when MOS was first released and there were non-stop posts about how hot Cavill was. Even straight men were in on it and using him for work-out inspiration. People actually gasped in the theater. H.Cavz was robbed.
