Here We Go Again Part 3: New Welling As Superman Rumors?

So I finally saw "The Social Network." Good flick. Andrew "Peter Parker" Garfield was surprisingly good in it.

Anyway, after seeing the movie, I don't understand all of the Armie Hammer for Superman love. He portrayed the twins well enough, but I can't see him as Superman. Sure, he's tall, but I dunno, he never came off "imposing" ya know?

To me, someone like Joe M. from True Blood, who I DON'T think should get the part either btw, has more of a physical presence. There are times on "True Blood" where he actually reminds me of Welling.

Just my $.02.

Really can't wait to see who the heck snyder picks. Really hope its a good choice which I am sure he will. I still wouldbt mind hammer or joe. Sure they are my first choices. But still would be good choices.

Right there with you, regarding Hammer. I saw the movie a while after I'd first read the online fan buzz about him in the role, but during the movie I couldn't see a single thing besides height that would make him an excellent Superman.

Well maybe it wasn't the best type of film to view his acting on?

ya SR colors the worst. heck even back in the red/blue jacket/shirt outfits sv pulled reds/blues off alot better.

^ Doubt it. First off, why would a guy be given a tape of his own audition? And then go and post it on his own YouTube channel?

ya probably fake, or just some actor trying to get his name out there. Thought he was ok, and has a nice look. As for the video he probably made it himself with his agent or what not and trying to get it to wb to look at.

:wow: :wow::wow:

agree! the 'red-blue blur' looked more like superman colors than anything else. Haven't seen what they're doing with SR's costume. The same people did take Alicia Silverstone's Batgirl costume and put it to faithful colors

So was over at collider website a little while ago. They got a story up of possible production time table for the reboot. It fits loggically for what we know. But they don't know how true the claim is. The article said production should run from aug 2011-may 2012 with post production from may-nov 2012. With the film as we know being scheduled for a winter 2012 date. This would all fit with time needed for shooting/post/reshoots and all that.

Hehehe. "OOh, Publisher's clearing house. I may be a millionaire. Wait, I can make enough diamonds to become a billionaire..."
"What, The IRS says I owe them money? I'm an alien! I'm tax exempt."
Actually, the Silver Age Superman had a special tax exemption status that the government gave him. I'm not making that up.

Google Superman's Billion dollar debt.

looks like collider has some more spoilers/rumors on filming/location:

To follow up on the confusion surrounding my tip off about the Superman production timeline:
The scenes in Smallville aren’t the first thing in the movie but are going to be filmed first for convinience and won’t be a major part of the story but a key part.
I believe that the stand in for Metropolis will be Chicago and NOT Vancouver. This is one of the key reasons why The Dark Knight Rises has moved to Detroit because TDKR doesn’t have as many ariel shots as Superman and so the audience will not know the difference. The ariel shots in TDKR will be CGI enhanced as will the Superman shots.
There will be a Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year breaks during the shoot. Shooting in 2011 finishes on something like December 15th and won’t resume until January 5th.
The foreign shoots are for a montage scene and will feature Clark Kent. I believe the story says Iraq and Afghanistan but filming won’t take place there for obvious reasons and a stand in country will be chosen. The actual foreign places are being decided now and it may even film those desert war scenes in the US.
The UK studio is Shepperton Studios at Pinewood I believe and is where the Daily Planet interior scenes will be filmed as well as others which I won’t say.

Eep! :wow:

Now I'm hoping this scoop is true.

ETA: Also... why is filming the SV scenes first more convenient? Could they be utilizing sets that haven't been dismantled yet?

Speculations 'R Us. :cwink:

they probably meant that any smallville scenes being shot(where ever they are shooting smallville location) is probably going to be easier shots to get done first. Where as big action scenes would take more time and would need the time to work on and get ready.

I doubt they are using smallville's sets/location for smallville scenes in reboot. Heck we still havent officially gotten word from wb/snyder camp where filming will be. Right now we have rumors from a few weeks ago it would shoot in vancouver and now this rumor say metropolis stuff could be shot in chicago, set filming in uk, and another location for smallville setting scenes.

despite others im still pulling for tom here. the thing that gets me is the directors "immediately" dismissed routh but still have not counted out tom, that's a good sign in my book! :applaud

Ya could be as simple as that, plus we been told by snyder he wants a clean new start. Sure would be nice for tom to be in the film. But then we get into the same issues with routh fans and folks who don't like sv and all that. Its far better to not get into a mess like this and be a clean new begining.
