Heroes Strike Thread (Post all strike related news in here)

there's only going to be 4 more episodes?
it just started picking up :down

You know what this means right? REALITY SHOWS 7 DAYS A WEEK! WOOHOO!!!

to quote the fresh price "AW hell no"

Reportedly, Tim Kring wouldn't comply with a weekend rewrite that would tack a season ending onto the last script written and is now off HEROES.

View.

Am I reading that wrong or is he officially off the show?

nope, he's just joined the strikeforce, that sounds funny

Who knows? AICN lies a lot.

Kring is indeed on strike.

ya even Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives) has joined in on the strike, a lot of big people on these shows have joined in. Tina Fey, Amy S are even on strike

They have to go on strike. It is part of their union agreement which they have to be members of to work. When AICN says he is "off" Heroes, they don't mean the strike. They mean NBC fired him for not changing the ending to episode 11.

the strike makes me sad

i guess i better look for some good tv shows on dvd. i havent seen Prison Break yet...

So like any of yall wanna get together and we can just write a few scripts ourselves, I'd do it for free just to keep the series going.

I HATE STRIKES

unions and guilds suxor

Thanks. That's terrible, though.

Tim Kring isn't fired.

CNN reporting from the picket line:

Tim Kring, a producer and writer of the NBC hit "Heroes," said he had to revise the ending of the show's 11th episode on the chance that it might be the last one to air this season.

"Fortunately we were able to hustle back," Kring said from a picket line in an effort to shut down the show. "The audience won't be left in a lurch."

Let's strike against all these strikes!! :cmad:

Are there any more meetings scheduled for negotiations?

Not at the moment...

Both sides are saying that this will be worse than the 1988 strike.....so its not looking good.

Terrible audio, but here's a video that helped me understand the situation:

:woot:

Ouch! :( Why? I don't understand why people aren't willing to compromise.

I don't know the specifics of the compromises, but from what I've read the % that the writers ended up saying they would sign for was nothing really. The studios are afraid of how big the other venues of money making are going to be in the months and years to come. They did not take the compromise. Thats when the writers walked out.

Gah, they should just go make a deal. Either they lose small amounts gradually due to the writers, or millions quickly due to the strike. It's a lose-lose situation.

They won't lose millions cause of the strike. They'll literally make more cause they'll just go to straight reality /game shows and those are cheap as hell to make, and they'll still pull in roughly the same amount of numbers.
