I hope CBS makes the right call.. aka ending the show.

I agree. I love this show, so much that I'd say its my favorite show on TV right now, but I'd much rather see them end the way they want, rather than try to prolong it.

I don't like that, if there's a season 9, they're going to change course at some point in S8. Play it the same either way.... Barney/Robin wedding by the end of the season, and Ted meeting the Mother. If there's a ninth season, just grow from there. Perhaps at the end, Ted and the Mother find out they're having a baby.

I'd be fine either way, I just don't like the idea of postponing things.

And if S8 is the end, I hope there's at least a few episodes with the Mother. I don't like the idea of....

The worst would be the gang sitting in a diner. There is no narration from Future Ted. A woman in another both is making her waffles sing a show tune. Another woman in the diner is reading an economics book. A woman walks in the diner with a yellow umbrella. She then puts it down by a coat rack with two other yellow umbrellas. Ted looks at each one. They each sneak a peek at him and shoot him a shy smile. Then as we get a shot of the gang talking to each other, the screen goes black. Series over.

I finally got around to watching the second part of the latest finale since my DVR cut it off when it originally aired, and I didn't really like how it was done. I'm not talking about the ending with Robin or anything, but more about the writing of the episode in general. Maybe its because I was watching the first two seasons on Netflix recently, but the episode as a whole felt like it had a lot of wide stretches in terms of what was believable and that kinda makes me worry even more about what could happen if they try to drag it out for another year or two.

Less is more, but if done right, at least a few brief moments with her would be all we need.

I imagine it would be a sweet montage of scenes like when Ted was in love with Rachel Bilson and she was a lesbian. Or the epsiode with the girl he loved but had to get to before everyone else because she was never single.

I literally screamed 'I F***ING HATE THIS SHOW!' as the camera panned up at the end of the episode. They keep teasing us.

I wouldn't be surprised if she's involved with the band playing at the wedding/reception and he sees her at the wedding but is too busy with the Robin/Barney stuff to really notice or talk to her.

Loved that they used Band of Horses' "Funeral" at the end. The second it started, I was like "oh ****, this is serious business".

That ending got me really excited about meeting the mother and seeing Ted finally find the one.

I hope this means the show is going to focus on him again and get away from being the Barney & Robin show. As much as I love their characters, Ted's journey is the main reason I started watching the show and felt it started getting meh after they started focusing more on everyone else.

I agree, season one was my favorite season because it focused so much on Ted trying to do whatever it took to find the one, but I think after Stella, whether it was on purpose or not, he sort of lost his steam and he hasn't really been the same person, or at least he hasn't been written the same. I think that's why I was so bothered by his return to Victoria when I finally saw the finale last week, because it reminded me of what Robin told him in Shelter Island about how marrying Stella would be him trying to fit into a life that wasn't his. But I'm glad he seemed to realize that he was doing the same with Victoria by the end of this episode.

But seeing as how we know more about where he meets the mother now, I think the Robin/Barney stuff instantly becomes more important now because we know that everything with them leads to Ted meeting the mother. Although I do wish Ted became the enter of focus again as opposed to feeling more like a supporting character.

Klaus making that little speech was great and I agree Band of Horses was perfect I always love hearing that song.

After all these years and all these amazingly deep romantic actions Ted has shown to get the 'one' I cannot wait to see his reaction when he meets his lebenslangerschicksalsschatz and what he does to show her how he feels. It should be one of the best parts in the shows history.

It goes back to what I mentioned about what Robin told him at the wedding with Stella, about how he deserved a great ending, but settling with just anyone wouldn't be right.

Yeah, I think Ted mentioned it in the premiere last year where he sort of lost faith, and again, I don't know if his diminished role is intentional by the writers, or if its just something that happened to build up other characters, but the show definitely took a shift in direction during the last few seasons.

I think some of the more serious episodes/arcs like Barney and Marshall's dad were done great, especially for a comedy, but I think some of the comedic episodes have been too outrageous and unbelievable to have the same magic that the show had in the earlier seasons.

What a wonderful episode. Poor Victoria. She is going to technically get dumped by two guys on her wedding day. Couple things that caught my eye.

Ted has his hand bandaged. Must have really been a bad day lol.

Did you guys notice the Taxi cab's license plate number? 2W86d. They love to play with numbers in the show, what if it means something? 2 weeks 86 days is what my crazy theory. January 12th is the end of the 2nd week of the year. Add 86 days to that and you get Monday April 9th. Mother revealed?

The Taxi's meter also shows 12.20. Might be something as well.

Ted was reading Love In the Time of Cholera while waiting at the train station. That was the favorite book of the "perfect match" Love Solutions found for Ted in the episode Milk (Season 1 Episode 21). He decided he didn't want perfect and decided to pursue Robin instead.

So I read the file, and by God this woman was perfect. She liked dogs, she spent her summers in North Carolina, she played bass guitar, she did the Times crossword, she played tennis, she liked old movies, her favorite food was lasagna, and her favorite book was Love in the Time of Cholera. Her favorite singer was Otis Redding and she wanted two kids, a boy and a girl.

The episode was meh. I loved the part with Barney and Andrea, but this episode was merely setup.

The ending was amazing. Loved the music and the speech. I think Klaus speech is a perfect setup for the end. I really hope this season is the end.
