'How I Met Your Mother' Plots 'Buffy' Reunion With Seth Green
12:13 PM PDT 10/26/2012 by Michael O'Connell

Alyson Hannigan's former 'Vampire Slayer' co-star is set to guest on the CBS comedy.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans, prepare to geek out. A key couple from the long dead WB drama is reuniting in primetime.

How I Met Your Mother announced Friday afternoon, via its official Twitter account, that actor Seth Green is set to guest alongside Mother star and former Buffy cast mate Alyson Hannigan.

Green's role, naturally, puts him in the company of Hannigan's Lily. He'll play Daryl LaCoutre, a college classmate who looked at Lily and Marshall (Jason Segel) as his best friends -- though they barely remember who he is. They find him 12 years later, still living by the Wesleyan campus, obsessing over a reunion with the married duo.

Hannigan and Green previously played on-screen couple Willow and Oz for roughly three seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer -- until Green's character departed the show and Alyson's became a lesbian.

This is not the first time How I Met Your Mother has reunited former Buffy co-stars. Alexis Denisof, who played Wesley Wyndam-Pryce on Buffy and spin-off Angel and is Hannigan's real-life husband, has appeared as daft anchorman Sandy Rivers in eight episodes of the series.

Green's Robot Chicken was recently renewed for a seventh season by Adult Swim. He is repped by UTA and Koopman Management. His episode of How I Met Your Mother is tentatively scheduled to air Dec. 10.

Amy Acker also guest starred in HIMYM in the first season.

In one of the first season episodes (The Pineapple Incident), Lily and Marshall discuss whether the bartender is a vampire.

did they play the new episode? or not?

it was interrupted with the news in my area... they said to turn to a different channel to see it, but, when I did it was an old episode

No. CBS bumped their new shows to next week due to storm coverage.

Alexis Denisof (Wesley Wyndam Price) also guest stars (Hannigan's Husband) as Sandy Rivers

I was wondering what happened. I thought HIMYM and Hawaii Five-0 were meant to be on this week.

Wasn't Jonathan(weakest member of the trio) the priest at Marshall's dad's funeral?

When also graduated from the same school as the creators of the show(Wesleyan)

Which is also the school that Ted, Lily and Marshall met in(at?)

ok, thank you

probably for the best, my power went out during the last 5 minutes of the show so, glade I didn't miss the end of the new one

did anyone get the soundtrack "How I Met Your Music" ? it has all the original songs like the Robin Sparkles songs, Barney's "Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit" and also Marshall's Slap songs.

i watched season 6 and 7. and Segel lost a lot weight. A LOT.

i did today, didn't even know they made one
was waiting on one for a long time :woot:

After last nights episode it seems like they are going to touch upon Ted's feeling toward Robin and Barney's relationship/marriage. TO which I think is a great idea because Ted needs to resolve these feelings in order to move on and more than likely will need to make peace with both Barney and Robin before the wedding because I think he has to ask her somewhere down the road why she would marry Barney and not him.

Another rather pointless/go nowhere episode. This show needs to move along quicker, I'm losing interest.

Ted and Victoria broke up, and we saw that robin's boyfriend has more issues with robin than he is letting on.

The problem with Ted and Robin is that they are once again going over territory they did last season with those two. They're pretty much going through the same things that happened last year and it's annoying. The whole Ted-Robin relationship was put to rest last year and to bring it up again makes me feel as though they're desperate. :bdh:

I'm a bit disappointed what they are doing with Nick. It's great they finally got him on the show and didn't simply ignore that story thread, but he's even more of a girl than Ted.

I lost interest last season. Show rarely makes me laugh now. Not only that it's just boring as hell. Think I'm still watching because I want to see how he meets the damn mother.

Marshall was annoying this episode. It seems like him and Lilly have become caricatures. I guess that is the right word.

They've run out of stuff for them to do. So now they are making the characters go full ****** to try and get some laughs.
