Superman Returns How many FEAR the theatrical trailer for "SR" will end up beeing a TOTAL LET-DOWN?!

but he's a completely DIFFERENT type of fanboy, obviously. His sig is nothing but rotating pictures of Wolverine Kissing Jean Grey. C'mon. That says something.

that says he has torrid e-mail relationships with whatever dude is playing Jean Grey in his online RPG, actually ;)

We previously reported that the Cannes Film Festival</B>, where X-Men: The Last Stand is screening out of competition, had listed a running time of 1 hour and 43 minutes for the third film.

As we expected, this was simply a guess by the festival because 20th Century
Fox couldn't confirm the true length of the film in time for their schedule to be published. As of today, no running time has been locked in yet, so stay tuned.

X-Men was 104 minutes and X2: X-Men United ran 133 minutes

Excel is right. WB learned with BB and the paltry opening that had people worried....45 Million?

They're gonna blitz. And quite frankly, that's the best way to go right now with Superman. They've already had a ton of free promotion:

The BLOGS
Comic Con
ShoWest
Magazine Covers 2 Wizard, 2 EW, Premire
Entertainment Tonight, etc, etc, etc....
Routh Torch Run
Routh in the NBA All-Star Challenge

It goes on and on......But, you release the trailer, all the tie-ins, major interviews, trailer on possibly MI:3, Da Vinci, X3.....

There's quite a bit to go on. Quite frankly, I'm thinking it's going to start happening like crazy in the next 2-3 weeks.

The toys, the books, the DVD set boxes....it's going to get nuts.

Exactly my thinking.

Says the guy with a Superman avatar ...........

We're not denying we are fan boys (at least I'm not). It's you who used the term with derision, which is the height of hypocrisy, judging from your posting history.

BTW - X2 was far superior to X1, and it did have something to do with the runtime. The characters had more time to, you know, do stuff and develop.

Says the guy with a Superman avatar ...........

when my superman avatar makes out with a lois lane avatar and I have 30 different links to online role-playing-games including the characters I'm playing and the corresponding games they're in, then you've got somethin. Until then--nada. :)

by the way: Fanboy didn't start out as an insult, and doesn't have to be one. nothing wrong with being a fanboy. just don't be an asshead.

I don't think that's true. I'm fairly certain that the term fanboy originated as a way to differentiate between different types of comic book fans. First you had a fan, someone who carried on a "normal" social life but also followed his favorite comic books. And then you had "fanboys" who obsessed about the characters and their comic world to the exclusion of a "normal" social life. It was a way of making that distinction between fan and maladjusted fan. It wasn't until later when fanboys began to use the term in a positive light in the whole "power/de-empowerment" thing, kind of like how homosexuals, African-Americans, and other assorted minorities have tried to adopt and use slurs in a positive way.

Very well said and I agree...

I have nothing more to add. :O

actually, no, I'm pretty sure "fanboy" was a cutesy nickname and it turned mean later when geeks had to claim superiority over other geeks.

I dont think we can really look this up to find out for sure right?

I loved Constantine and V for Vendetta but they were home runs?

Compared to Batman and Robin and Catwoman.....the WB got their act together. And it's showing, simple as that. They are giving the directors time and breathing room. Fox on the other hand, seems to not have learned a thing from their past mistakes.

Skruloos is correct, according to the wikipedia definition of the term.

I say we declare the case closed and let the thread resume it's intended course.

LOL. There's always wikipedia. although that's just other fanboys writing about fanboys :)

I love Wikipedia! I also love IMDB. Although they are not accurate.

You're gonna wait Fatboy...Fatboy...wait till tomorrow....

I'll captitulate to Skru, but the point still stands--it doesn't NEED to be a negative, much like "Geek" isn't even a negative anymore.

And now the thread continues :)

If we see shots like the new flying pic, I don't think the trailer will disappoint.

I don't think he trailer will disapoint...but I dont think it will be with MI3 either...

and unfortunatly Posiedon isn't going to bring in big bucks..... I don't think any poll shows anticipation for this years... Island, Sand witched between MI and 2 big un in Over the hedge and da vinchi... Posiedon may not make over 100 Million

The only bad trailers I've ever seen are the trailers for Uwe Boll's films. And those movies speak for themselves lol.

Nice to see Olcanucklehead continue to troll around here with saying X3 will be better like it's a fact, when it's more of his belief. And his crazy ranting & non-logic comments is another part of his trollish behavior.

Something about OldCanucknucklehead that is eeriely familiar to me...

I can't even pronounce that name properly. How do you pronounce that name?

I have to agree about Posiedon. I think maybe people will sort of look at it as a knock off of Titanic in a way. I'm looking forward to it though. Richard Dryfuss. I think the trailer is going to be exactly what we need to buzz things up even more.
