How many people think that X3 WON'T be the #1 movie in INTERNATIONAL market???!!!!!!!

And? Both Spider-Man movies made over 400mil, none of the X-films have even hit 200mil, I expect this movie to stuggle to make over 200mil. Outside of Spider-Man, no other comicbook film has had uber success in the international markets. A 100mil isn't a huge success in the international market when you are a tentpole blockbuster action flick.
Everyone I talk too wants too see X3.I think awareness is at 86% and def.int is at 52%.

According to Boxofficemojo:

X-Men

TOTAL LIFETIME GROSSES
Domestic: $157,299,717 53.1%
+ Foreign: $138,950,336 46.9%

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

= Worldwide: $296,250,053

X2: X-Men United

TOTAL LIFETIME GROSSES
Domestic: $214,949,694 52.7%
+ Foreign: $192,607,919 47.3%

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

= Worldwide: $407,557,613

For the 4-day weekend? Are they crazy? If X2 can make over $80 million over a 3-day weekend, then this one will make over $100 million (or damn close to it).

ahh oh well Captain Jack Sparrow will probably be doing a jig on top of x3 as well.

Well, according to this, it's definitely making over $100M according to tracking numbers.

http://hollywood-elsewhere.com/archives/2006/05/the_davinci_cod.php

The DaVinci Code earned a hefty $28.6 million on Friday , and a rival studio (i.e., not Columbia, the domestic distributor) is projecting a $78,790,000 weekend. The question is what it will do on weekend #2 and #3, especially with X-Men 3: The Last Stand expected to go through the roof when it opens next Friday. Brett Ratner's sequel is going to make over $100 million over the 4-day Memorial Day weekend . (A recent tracking report had general awareness at 89, definite interest at 56 and first choice at 23. By the time next weekend rolls around the first choice figure for X-Men 3 will likely be up to 40.)

Any idea what those #'s were for DaVinci Code before it came out? (general awareness, definite interest, 1st choice)

How many people don't care, and just want a good film?

Good film comes first but box office numbers are important for sequel/spin off potential.

X3 will beat DVC...especially after the battery that DVC suffered at the hands of critics...X3 is getting good reviews...some are glowing :) It does my heart good to see that :-D

The bad reviews for Da Vinci didn't even dent public anticipation....

The movie will be #1 across the board... internationally and domestically.

Well box office takes is what makes an X4..

I'm afraid box office takes is what makes Wolverine and Magneto.

Fox have never indicated thay will make X4 (in fact thay have often indicated that this is the last film) and today Jackman ruled out any future X-men films for him in an interview at Cannes. I highly doubt Fox would make an X-Men film without Wolverine.

Wrong on both counts, my friend....

From boxofficemojo.com
Domestic all-time (rounded to whole numbers)
Spiderman 403 million
Spidey 2 373.5 million
X2 214.9 million
Xmen 157 million
No I am not. Both of the Spider-Man movies did make over 400mil internationally. And neither X1 or 2 hit 200mil in overseas grosses. So it is you who are wrong.

Even though DaVinci Code destroyed the BO last week, I still think X3 will beat it this weekend. DaVinci Code got terrible reviews, and I feel that with those terrible reviews, plus the fact that it is such a hot-button topic means that it will have a considerable falling off this weekend.

Everybody that wanted to see DaVinci code REALLY wanted to see it, and they did, last weekend. The way it has come off, I don't see it being a movie that a person decides to go see if they are bored and decide to go see a movie on the whim, it was an all-or-nothing sort of thing. I wouldn't be surprised if it has a 60-70% falling in BO revenue this weekend.

X3 won't be the number 1 movie. Pirates of the Caribean 2 will beat out X3. I think X3 will be number 2 for the summer.

I do. The Da vinci Code will be number one....sadly

I'd love for this to debut at #1, but honestly, I don't think it will. While it's got an incredible fan base, Da Vinci has been huge.

I've got the weekend off, so I'm going to try to go see it as much as possible!

It will beat da vinci internationally!
I have no doubt it will beat DVC, for one a lot of the people in my area saw it already so its out of their system, and they weren't that impressed. I dont think it will make more than 70 million for the rest of its time in box office.:)
