Okay. TBH, I remember very little about the remake. The kills were all so predictable and the suspense was so nonexistant, I found the whole thing rather boring. And movies that bore me I tend to forget a lot of the details to.

Would anyone else agree that the first 10 mins of the remake was awesome. The rest of the movie was OK but that first 10 mins had people clapping.

I'm just hoping for something different. Even if its something small like a clean up crew going to CCL during the winter.

Something that we also haven't seen since the first two is the whole "CCL is jinxed" and "... its got a death curse". I really like that don't go to that side of the woods vibe.

I found the opening ten minutes of the remake overdone. Another example of Michael Bay/Platinum Dunes trying to "fix" the original by "adding more". You only need one or two kills in the teaser opening to help set the mood. They had four or five. In a ten minute teaser, that leaves only 2 minutes per kill to develop any suspense. That set the scene for the rest of the movie . . . a lot of kills, very little suspense.

Without the suspense, the kill shots are meaningless. It's like a porno that doesn't show people having sex, only the money shots at the end.

When I watch a porno, I don't care about the money shots, I just wanna see people f**k. When I watch a slasher movie, I want the suspense to build before people die. Otherwise it's like the Hostel movies. A bunch of blood & guts just for the sake of having lots of blood & guts.

Then watch the very first two Friday The 13ths. Kevin Bacon doesn't take the arrow through the throat until after he and his girlfriend had finished having sex. Then in Part 2, Jeff & Sandra were in the middle of a post coitus cuddle when they got kabobbed. We really didn't get much in the way of sex scenes in Parts 3 & 4 (thank you MPAA, you bunch of "holier than thou" a**holes). Some nice nude scenes in Part 4, but little if any actual sex.

That's just because you were blinded by the fact that Jason was no longer going to be portrayed as being undead. Look at it more objectively and you'll see it for the unscary piece of crap that it is.

That's kinda true, at least the part about Jason fitting in the 80's so much better. To me, the remake's lack of suspense makes it feel more like A New Beginning, only the killer actually is Jason and not Roy Burns.

That was already done in the last film, they were only killed fully dressed some time after the act.

Yeah, but every slasher isn't scary to me. No film has ever scared me, maybe except The Ring and The Exorcist. Those movies have a very uncomfortable atmosphere and creepy imagery. I will jump due to jump scares, but they never scare me.
