The Dark Knight How should be the Batmobile for The Dark Knight?

If the Tumbler design is kept, then it's all good. I don't hate it, it's actually prettty bad-ass.

But please, I would really appreciate all this bullsh1t about "Batman would never stylize his car" to just stop. Really. The statement is so damn transparent it doesn't warrant a complaint unless it got real annoying, like it is now. All I gotta say on the subject is look at Batman's f'n suit to see that style is obviously part of his forte. And if anyone even tries to bother and bring up "but he uses the ears for radio transmissions", "the cape is used to travel distances", or any of the like...please don't. You'll make yourself look more like an idiot.

You'd have a more valid point if I actually suggested any of that anywhere in this forum. So please, if you'd like to enlighten me on when exactly I wanted a batmobile to have fins, no less batsymbols, or any of the like, you're welcome to do so.

My basic point is there's nothing wrong with a "sleeker" look. No, that does not mean neon lights. It seems with this board it's either black or white. From one extreme to the other. I prefer to be on the middleground myself. Aesthetically pleasing while still having functionality.

So, it's preference is it? Hmm, well, that ends the debate then. Seriosuly, i just want to know what the point of having a sleeker car is. Atleast Nolan has put substance behind his decision. You don't. It's meaningless. Your preference is futile and means nothing. Yes, let's have a Batman film with no metaphors, no substance, where everything is random and Batman is only interested in looking sexy. yay.

It's as if a tank is the only means of having a functional car. Which is...well, dumb. Like I said previously, I'm fine with the Tumbler. It worked well within the story. But by no means is it the be all, end all car. I'd love to hear what people's reactions would've been had Nolan chosen a batmobile that more resembled the comics. Cause I have a nagging feeling not even half of you guys would scream "Wrong! The design is meaningless!".

that doesn't make any sense since it was designed in the movie as a bridging vehicle. i also thought that that nolan wanted to give it a blade runner feel and if you look at the squad car from blade runner it looks very similar to the tumbler.

i was talking about the F-117 stealth plane dude. and Batman is all about stealth isnt he? i think it was just an additional feature that they turned it into a bridging vehicle.

and as far as i can recall of the Blade Runner police car its similarities to the Tumbler are the axleless front wheels, everything else has a pretty smooth aerodynamic design. the Tumbler looks like a lamborghini F-117 plane combo. they even have the same shade of grey-black.

I have a friend who spoke with some people at a convention who worked on BB, they said that in TDK, the tumbler will remain the same, except that the air foils will be like bat wings, Just the air foils(flaps).

The Tumbler was supremely bad-ass! It should remain pretty much the same. I do like the idea of making the foils look bat-wing-ish. Would be a nice touch!

Tumbler just seemed way more cooler than the Batmobile. Plus, Tumbler could go lights out and it would be hard to spot in the dark, I don't know if the Batmobile had a cloaking device or not.

Well one thing's for sure with the tumbler. It made it a lot easier to believe as a batmobile and not just a souped up machine. It 's realistic.
