Now listen to this before spewing vitriol...

What if he is in a PURPLE or DARK BLUE cloak like this

Or like this

without the shadowed face

A mask like this, but painted green

Check these scale mail gloves, painted chippy green

And this for the chest, in a purple tone

I think this would suitably fit the universe, while still retaining the look and feel of the goblin.

Seems more fitting for The Immortals of "300." Nothing says GG to me. Sorry.

Is it just the samurai mask? I think any mask that just covered his lower face, and had a ghastly smile or the like would do. It would allow expression through his eyes, without being a silly rubber mask.

Webb said in an interview that he doesn't want his Super villains to look like they walked out of a costume store. And your ideas look just that

I think its equally important to have a plausible or explainable reason for the costume and why they wear them rather than just have a great costume just to please fans but it may end up looking cheesy with no explanation

But for the superhero, it's okay?

Come on Webb. Make up your mind.

That's why he said "super villains", not "superheroes".

Green Goblin isn't Bane or Shredder though. lol

You need that cackling, sadistic smile. The penetrating eyes. The ghastly, creepy mask. Raimi's first test Goblin design had that but was trashed for the Power Rangers' helmet.

With CGI, they don't really even need to create a mask. They could have Cooper deliver his lines but his new "face" could be close to the 616-version perfectly using motion-capture.

What's the difference? They're both "super" characters occupying the same world.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I can guarantee you that Gobby's suit is most likely going to be very high tech, even way more than Raimi's seeing how he's doing this universe.

Spider-Man wears red and blue spandex with big white bug eyes, how is that NOT supposed to look like he walked out of a costume shop?

That still doesn't answer the question as to why it's OK for the superHERO to look like he stepped out of a costume shop, but not the superVILLAIN.

Also, you're telling me you haven't noticed the pieced together, semi-homemade look of the TASM costume, versus the obviously more expensive, streamlined, polished, extremely professional, high production standards of TASM2 costume?

Alright then.

I love ultimate but it's a no to that version of GG

The hero is a middle class senior; the villain is a billionaire who can afford a more robust, strategic outfit.

Something akin to a green version of this wouldn't be bad:

He gave the explanation in TASM
'Spandex...Spandex,Everything Spandex'

It increases his speed while swinging and makes him more streamlined.Like the swim suits professional swimmers wear

As for the new costume, the movie is yet to release and we'll see what explanation there is

Also it makes more sense for a 17 year old to customize his suit rather than a 50 year old industrialist who suffers from mania
