The Amazing Spider-Man 2 How should the Goblin look???

We could end up getting 2 green goblins, harry being the glider goblin after testing the latest serum maybe in TASM2/3 and at some point norman becomes hulk goblin maybe by injecting to much of the serum in a big last minute battle or something, would kill 2 birds with one stone in terms of both father and son becoming green goblin

both harry and norman are here for a purpose, and harry looks to have a dark part in this story and could possibly end up the green goblin but saying that norman being ill is something that must have a bigger plan to it, esp with his connection to peters parents that peter will probably come face to face with him at some point,

Harry just looks creepy in general. All of the set photos that I've seen gives him this uncomfortable/menacing vibe.

I disagree on the "crippling the imaginative/creative spirit" bit. It is FAAAAR easier to just go wild without care or need of it making sense than it is to look at such a fantastical character like the Goblin and try to make him work in a setting that some may seem "realistic" without sacrificing who and what the character is. It takes FAR more creativity and imagination to do that than say "screw it, toss him in a purple tunic and give him a jet powered broomstick because **** it, that's how it was in the comics".

Granted, people CAN use it as a crutch, but the result will always be lackluster if that's the case.

I wouldn't mind if we get this but with a rubber mask (like Red skull)

Looking through the various ideas posted in here these two strike me as the best looks.

My guess is harry will be the goblin, Norman will be dead. Then harry will use his father's head as the mask. That would be siiiccck and twisted, It kinda make sense given the rumors of a replica Chris Cooper/Norman Osborn's head hanging in the Goblin Chamber. Think about it, Harry is trying to honor his father's legacy by mimicking him in a sick way, the facial mask is kinda messy but still very expressive, kinda like leatherface. It allows some facial expression, and all you have to do is paint it green.

that's really dark, not sure they would do that.

mind you, personally i think it's kind of awesome, but yeah.

well, a villain should be sick and twisted for someone like the green goblin. I think it would give more impact given we've already seen a power ranger goblin, and a big green monster, a facial nanotech mask is really impractical,to much effort for fan service and has no contributing factors to the core of the story and the relationship between the characters. It reflects just how sick and damaged both of these character's (harry and norman ) and they're relationship.

The head is clearly going to be a bust of some kind - he's a dying, narcissistic emperor of his own tower of Babel. I'm sure he has self-portraits and busts about his place.

That's what the head will be. Perhaps at the end of the movie, we'll see a mask get thrown on top of it, but that's just wishful thinking on my part. It's not going to be an actual organic head

I'd say it will be the Ultimate look, since it seems like they're going for the whole "villains physically transform into something else," deal instead of costumes. Same goes for Rhino, Giamatti will probably get mutated somehow.

it could be a mutated look they're going, but it doesn't have to be a hulking monster. The mutation could make the facial features to be green and unhealthy skin, like a really sick person but inside his becoming more powerful. The dealbreaker about the ultimate goblin is that it doesn't have a glider and pumpkin bomb, it's just a generic green, flame-throwing, demon monster, we don't want two of those running around since we've already have the lizard.

"There is no goblin sequence!"

I remember how CashForStash was saying how upset it made him feel that third parties capitalised on misinformation and how it frustrated those who legitimately worked in the trade. Poor guy /brohug

Much better than Norman with spiky green hair :whatever:

Yeah.

I expect Harry suiting up to be a swerve.

Like it happens, but it doesn't really lead to anything. Like there's no major fight. We just see a crazed Harry coming at Peter after his battle with Electro, but he's easily subdued.

Then afterwards, the real goblin shows up and raises unholy hell on Peter and Gwen.

In the name of Skye's holy cleavage, that would be excellent.

Nothing is confirmed yet, there's always hope it'll resemble the classic look.

I hope so too. It would be really weird if after all the complaints the first Goblin got, they'd make him even more armored in the rebooted series.

Well, later reports (which have been proven partially. Well actually entirely true) said that its Harry who wears the Iron Man looking suit and has green hair.

Where is this confirmation? All we know of were leaked pics of the Goblin Glider. Nothing more.

I think we're going to get more or less the antithesis of spider man. A guy in costume that recalls the goblin from the comics. I think I'll be happy no matter what the outcome. Power ranger suit or not, Defoe carried that role well

Where? I've never seen them, can you PM them to me?

Just type in "amazing spider-man 2 goblin glider" on Google Images. It's supposedly real. But never trust anything "leaked." It looks like a prototype roughly the shape of the Goblin's Glider.
