Maybe, Harry transforms into a Goblin like creature (with the deformed/goblin looking face), then Norman gets the physical enhancement serum, but it has been perfected so he doesn't transform with facial deformities into a goblin-creature... And in order to resemble the first Goblin (Harry) so as to use that identity to cover his own, he uses a mask (a la 616) to look like a Goblin

Yeah for sure, not til 3 at least. But I think that would be a good/cool way to get a Green Goblin that does wear the classic Latex-type mask, but actually have a realistic reason for doing it as well

Exactly. Especially since that's how Marc Webb has been doing most of his villains.

Lol. "Madness". I appreciate what the Green Goblin looks like so far..it's obviously in line with this super technological/science-y universe Marc has built. I just gotta see more of GG in full- details of his face, full body shot, glider..

I don't know. I think the one way to do it differently is to just do it better by going all out on an evil malevolent Norman. Kind of like how Nolan went for broke in rebooting Joker. But if it becomes about avenging the son, it is just kind of contrived.

I'd argue that Nolan stayed extremely true to the core of those characters, whilst changing only superficial details. Changing the Norman/Harry dynamic and having Harry (possibly) kill Gwen is not staying true to the core of the characters at all.

I honestly don't think Norman is going to care enough about his son to need to avenge him if something happens to Harry. I could definitely be wrong, but I'm picturing a Norman who only sees his son as a means to an end in this. Just a guess

I would hope there would be something more to his character, y'know? The evil conglomeration/supervillain factory is already too much...but to make it's owner a soulless, pure evil, corporate magnate? That's pushing things into saturday morning cartoon villain territory.

A helmet with retractable visor/goggles would be a great idea. A helmet like the one in your drawing would work perfectly. It looks like an aerodynamic bike helmet (similar to the GG's helmet in SM1)...which makes total sense to wear when you're flying around on a jet powered glider at high velocities...

Yeah an aerodynamic helmet is the way to go. Though not so exaggerated as the Raimi design and more angular shaped. It is based on an older concept of mine, without the visor, I am posting it again in case you missed it.

@Alex_Spider that actually looks pretty cool, I'd be happy if we got something similar to that

@kbrooks I know not tooting my own horn ha but I would be beyond freakin ecstatic if that's similar to how it ended up. My best guess however is that Norman's transformation/appearance will be very similar to Harry's, but with little tweeks and additions here and there to make him look a little more canon-true. But who knows!

I agree. Nolan took the core concept and did it even better than the already great interpretation before him. His changes were cosmetic. However, if Harry kills Gwen or even is simply the catalyst for Norman becoming GG ("You killed my son!"), it is just a weak-kneed work-around of avoiding redoing the villain in a straight manner like Raimi did. It would be like they are plotting their entire franchise in the same way they couldn't bring themselves to say "With great power..." in the first movie. Just do it, but do it better. I thought they learned that lesson when they made the best Spidey costume yet for this movie.

And I just HAD to stumble upon this image. haha I guess there is supposedly a second video circulating of a screen test Raimi did for the animatronic Goblin mask? I honestly feel, regardless of what people say, this style could easily be pulled off. You COULD make a Green Goblin accurate costume and stay away from all the tech inspired designs.

It'd be cool if they went the route where the Goblin mask LOOKS real. Everyone who sees him from a distance, including Spider-Man, could think they're looking for something like the Lizard. And then, in an up close and physical fist fight, Spidey realizes that Goblin is actually wearing a mask!

Like a werewolf, Goblin is able to blend in on the streets like an every day person. I don't know, feel like it'd be cool. They're probably too far along though to go that route.

Also, another way to keep that design to work, like the first Amazing Spider-Man, all Goblin shots would have to take place at night.

Just a thought.
