how would you revamp the X-men

Kill Charles, and as he dies he looses control of his power and erases the minds of all of the x family, and they have to rediscover who they are and what they want in life.

Ehhh, I'm stumped. Don't care enough to be able to think up anything.

I don't think anything's all that wrong with the X-Men right now, to be honest. They're busier than I'd like, eliminating those quiet bonding issues I talked about before, but otherwise they're pretty good overall. Even Vulcan's not that bad.

I agree that Carey's done an awesome job on X-Men.

Whedon's doing pretty well on Astonishing and Brubaker's doing well on Uncanny, too. All three titles are good, as far as I'm concerned.

Okay people foget the whole KILL OFF X thing. Because we all know that the next writer that comes along is just going to bring him back from the dead. I've never cared much for Gambit, but I wouldn't kill him because someone would just bring him back. I would change Beast back to the first blue furry version, I don't much care for the "He looks like a cat now" crap.

The X-Books are the best they've been in years. Even the worst one (Uncanny) is enjoyable.

That is a terrible idea.

Pre-cat Beast would be nice. That's something I'd change, too.

I like Cat Beast. If you're gonna change him, change him back to human form beast.

That'd work, too. I was hoping he would take Rao's cure, but of course Wolverine had to be all obnoxious and make him feel ashamed. :o

Hey, the X-Men are nothing but Drama, I say go for it.

I never saw the point of Cat beast. Being Blue and furry with fangs already made him an outcast, so the change to a cat didn't have much of a point, and it didn't really make a lot of sense. Plus it looks stupid... I put it down inthe "Fight Club Thunderbolts" category of "Not a good change"

At least Beast, Emma and Angel's new powers/appearances were storyline based instead of Brubaker's outright avoidance of certain powers just because he doesn't like them.

It was story-based, but I don't much like the secondary mutation plot device to begin with. It seems really arbitrary, and it makes the whole mutancy thing in general seem more arbitrary by association. Suspension of disbelief could cover someone developing telepathy as part of "natural" human evolution, but telepathy followed randomly by the ability to turn into diamond? It strains my suspension of disbelief a lot more.

Was that part of the whole "Secondary Mutation"@#$% that I've heard about?

<Edit> Opps didn't see Corp's response or it did exist when I started posting.

That's when the fact that it's comics comes into play. A high class snob turning to diamond might be a one off joke, but it stuck around and I don't mind it. The Beast transformation worked for a minute in making him uncomfortable in his own skin again. That said, I'd much prefer a return to any of his previous appearances. The only one that I've not liked is Angel's new healing powers. They make him more of a valuble member of whatever team he's on, but they've been ignored by writers when they could've been helpful. Either use them or retcon them.

I forgot Angel even had healing powers. They really gotta find something to make him more useful offensively. I love Angel as a character, but I never quite know what his purpose on any team is beyond recon.

Also, I liked him better with blue skin.

I personally Liked the Archangel version of Warren,.. With the ability to throw feathers like knives.

And the Blue Beast- no catty.

And Wolverine "Heal - fast" not "regenerate from a drop of blood while fighting death."

And swashbuckling Womanizing Kurt Wagner.

And "You think this is a game?" Benevolent Storm.

And "Slim,..... Slim Summers" Cyclops.

And "I'm a computer nerd who likes Big russians and her Dance class" Kitty Pride.

Oh,... and as a true personal pref - BRING BACK BANSHEE!!!!

That's what I'm saying. His healing power could have been very useful during his time in NYC with the Renegades, yet Pak either ignored it or forgot it (if he even knew about it to begin with).

His healing power's kind of rough for field use, though. He heals people with his blood, right? It'd be nice if someone could give him and Beast a brain and have Beast try to isolate whatever properties his blood has and fashion it into some kind of curative that would work regardless of blood type, so he's not running around cupping an open vein anytime someone's hurt.

yeah thanks for that.:oldrazz:
at least I didn't suggest that they all loose their powers, or that there is some mutant war.

He could actually come up with a use for all those 90's pouches the X-Men had and carry small vials of his blood in them. He could be the anti-vampire, putting his blood into other people. :)
