u might think of him as a great (i dont care for him) but theres is no way i can see him playing the joker- especially after all the huge movies/characters hes played in the past 7 years (ALL 3 Matrix, ALL 3 Lord of the Rings, V for Vendetta). and his voice is way too deep for joker (even if he tired changing it).

Bettany I think would give us more of a TAS Joker which is by far the preferable route.

I still have to watch some of his movies. The library doesn't have Gangster No 1 so I cant get it for free I don't know if my rental place has it or not.

I do think he's a better idea that Weaving.

Weaving would be a much better Two Face or Mr Freeze than he would be Joker.

i agree with the people who think he would be a better riddler

i am in the bettany camp, but i also am in the camp that says, why not? with Hugo Weaving, he has proven that he can be a charasmatic figure, and an intimidating bad guy..if you put face paint on him, then in his big movies, 3 of them he was wearing dark glasses, 3 of them he had long hair pointy ears, and is not as recognized for that role as his others..in another big role for him he wore a mask, and if we where the joker, his face would be covered in paint..

point is, he isn't this screen time sucking big bucks actor, he has played insane, he has played charismatic, and when you watch him as joker the only other role you could possible think, is agent smith, and the only reason is because you want to think that to find a flaw with the actor...he isn't my frist choice, mine goo Depp, Bettany, and Hulme (i know there is little chance Depp gets it but i still hold out hope) but if Weaving gets it more power to him, and i think he will do good
