I think all of all the stars Urban did the best job.

So I take it Urban complains a lot in this film?

If so...sweet! Never been a trekkie but growing up watching the films if I had to pick a favorite character it would be Bones. Always complaining and cynical which a lot of times would be for humour with some of his quips.

Paraphrasing-

Kirk: Sit down and enjoy the flight.
Bones: Enjoy? We're one minute crack away from explosive decompression and having our eyeballs boil in our skulls....

Karl Urban was my favorite in the movie

I'm glad Karl Urban got a meaty role he can really sink his teeth into. I like his Eomer in LOTR, but that role isn't very interesting aside from him riding the horses and slaying the Uruk-hais.

he has some of the best funny lines of the movie !

I just got back. The movie is excellent despite it failing.

Kirk's rise to Captain is still all wrong. Nero is whatever. And the explaination of Spock's failure is a failure. And the music was repetitive to the point of annoyance.

Besides all that.

That movie is frakkin' AMAZING!

9/10

He absolutely NAILED IT!!!

"Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a physicist!"

He was AWESOME!!!!

Is that an actual line from the new film or were you just throwing out an old quote of his from past films/TV show?

That is in the movie. I'm paraphrasing a bit because he says it in conjunction with something else, and everyone was laughing so hard I missed the other part, but it's in the movie.

He never got to say "He's dead Jim!" :(

I too saw it last night, and loved it (we got applause when 'Directed by J J Abrams' appeared :applaud). I one had a kick ass time, all the characters were SUPERBLY cast (another vote for Karl Urban as Bones :woot:, he was wicked cool!). the visuals were impressive, when Kirk and Bones see the Enterprise for the first time, and that GREAT music (i ran out and got the soundtrack after leaving the theater) was awesome. I was never a follower of the 60s show, i grew up on the TNG and up era, but I LOVED the movies (have all 10 of them on dvd). I cannot wait to see it again, but in IMAX :wow:!

Lightning Strykez!, you're super lame for making the highest rating on the poll a 5. :down

Movie of the year, if not better. My best points.

+ Acting, especially from Urban, Yelchin and Pegg
+ The music, especially the new theme
+ Continuity/past references, it really put a chill down my spine hearing the bleeps at the very start

Just got back from it Amazing! Pine and Quinto were execellent . I think I wanna marry Uhrua :wow:.Lol. I give it an A.

Uhura? I want Gaila the green woman with big green boobs. I love a fully figured woman :D .

Rachel Nichols=HAWT. But then again, I love me some Zoe Saldana too so..

Saw it again today. Still awesome. Just as awesome in a regular theatre as it was last night in Imax.

Zoe Saldana is hot. But Rachel Nichols is the total smoking package.

I saw it last night.

Now I'm a medicore Trek fan. I have watched all the TOS, Next Gen, all the movies. Have quite a few of them. But I'm no means a hard core fan. But I always admired them.

Last night what I saw was the best film I've seen since TDK, and more then that, its the best light hearted action/adventure movie I've seen since Raiders of the Lost Ark.

To me it kept everything Trek in it, but also blended it with Indy type adventure. The humor was to me never over the top, just perfect. I kinda sat there going "The Transformer guys wrote this?" I thought it was one of the most fun I've had at a theater in years and years. Every one in my theater was enjoying themselves and then some. I went with two Trek haters, and now they love Trek. Quite amazing really. On the low side I admit that they lack some of the philosophy that the others had, but to me all they need to do for the sequel is add a little of it, not too much, but a little.

Because IMO this new formula for Trek works. To me it is a great action/adventure with brains behind it. Truly a great movie.

94%

I was not expecting this at all. But truly a great film. It's nice to have a non-depressing movie once in a while.

Indeed. No awkwardly bad jokes about *********ion? ;)

LOL, exactly. I was going in there worried about that, but all the characters/humor levels were to me perfect. But I was glad there was no *********ion talks lol.

Oh, come on! The "spanking the monkey" scene in Transformers was gold.
