Bringing on a younger Khan would be just what the doctor ordered in the next Trek film IMO.
Some may disagree, but some also disagreed with use of Joker in the sequel to BB in TDK.
Using the Joker in TDK turned out pretty damn well fellas.
Trek must move forward, not retread. That is why the Klingons were only mentioned and not seen in the movie even though they were apart of a major plot point (Nero and his crew f***ed with the Klingons and were imprisoned by them sometime in the 25 year time span before somehow gaining back control of the Narada and escaping after destroying a whole Klingon fleet). Also, since Khan technically still existed in an alternate timeline as opposed to Joker being in two separate Batman film franchises, it makes it even more of a retread.
I hope the writers breathe more fresh life into the franchise with either lesser known villains/aliens or brand new ones. The original cast already got rebooted. Now let's move forward from there.
That's just me, but I really hope Khan isn't brought back...not because he is a classic, but because bringing him back is a retread. The revitalized franchise doesn't need a remake.
