"I am DOOM! What MODS Dare Stand Against Me! - Part 2

If we're being objective, both of those designs are pretty silly looking. One of them is just more faithful than the other one.

I dunno, the green eyes bug me for some reason.
Both silly, but one looks a lot more imposing than the other. The first image looks like a burnt mannequin with a trashbag over its head.

To each his own, I guess.

If they both look silly why not just stick to an interpretation closer to the original?

SILLY LOOKING??? CLASSIC DOOM IS SILLY LOOKING???
:cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad:

Doom is ICONIC! That hurts my soul to hear that he is "silly looking" opinion or not....

Most superheroes and villains look silly when looked at in isolation from their world and characterization.

Yeah, look how silly this classic Doom statue looks at a convention center.:whatever:

Oh come on. A giant armoured man clad in green and a gaudy belt surrounded by comic book geeks.

That looks ridiculous.

Granted, looking kind of goofy and actually being a deadly threat has always been part of Doom's appeal.

This. Because FFINO Doom is not only silly but looks like utter crap. The same can't be said of classic Doom.

And people could say that Darth Vader looks silly as well if you think about him objectively.

His classic look is iconic! It looks badass to me. Plus what it represents has yet to be seen onscreen. It's supposed to represent the moment that Doom decided to abandon his human side completely at will and become something else entirely.

Toned down a bit, I think Doom's classic look would work just fine as his traditional royal garb. No one complains about Game of Thrones costumes being silly looking and that's the sort of period clothing Doom's look comes from.

Ah the classic tactic of attacking the source material when you don't have a better alternative.

Meh, most superhero designs look silly at first sight, but it comes down to how you treat them on the big screen. Darth Vader nowadays could look a bit clunky, but he still maintains an aura due to the right mix between Direction, aura and voice, not to mention that even if from a certain point of view it could look a bit silly, it's still pretty badass.

A proper Dr. Doom could be amazing, when it comes to the looks, he isn't more difficult to pull off than the likes of Green Goblin (whom not even fans have a complete consensus regarding how he should look on film), Red Skull, etc.

Loki in Kirby's original drawing could have ended up looking goofy as hell:

But the films knew how to take the original design and adapt it in a way that worked.

Dr. Doom's look is already pretty cool, it doesn't need all that many tweaks to work on the big screen.

That looks amazing!! I wish I could get a picture with that. Even as a statue it just looks threatening. gaahh...he would be the greatest MCU villain ever.

I think the Thing has more "confirmed kills" than Doomy. Did anyone count the number of exploding heads?

So....Doom basically just stood around on Planet Zero for an entire year doing jack because.....foxplanation?

Stood around while they reshot his scenes and rewrote his character.

I really enjoyed Toby Kebbell's performance, but the character did get weaker when he became Dr. Doom at the end.
