The Dark Knight Rises I am little sad to know many spoilers about the movie and end of Bane

Ah, thought that you meant that Nolan attended a screening of the prologue and said something about it.

Oh, no. He never dishes out the goods. :hehe:

Personally, I think it'd be cool if he went into some sort of beserker mode or something if his mask was taken off... but that's just me.

Same here. In fact, a few of us have speculated on the aspect of Bane's mask containing the wounded beast. I desperately want to see Bane 'unleashed'.

So, it's official that Bane's mask numbs the pain of injuries he's suffered in the past?

Yes, it was confirmed by the costume designer and the Nolans, in the Empire article.

Well, his mask in this does sort of look like a muzzle... soo, anything's possible. :D

That's our line of thinking. :woot:

It works both as an anesthetic and muzzle. If it comes off, the animal is let loose and hell comes along with it.

contrary to what people on this site claim to know, no one knows anything about this film except those in the production

Well apparently Batman gets his mask ripped off earlier in the film, so it should be a nice bookend to have Batman return the favor later...
bingo. we have a batfan who listens. bravo CaptainSPunk you wrotte something that 90% of batfans are ignoring on purpose. ok lets writte some dialgoe from the prologue.

Bane '' No one cared who I was until I put on the mask''

we know that Bane breaks batman mask. we know what batman's mask meant in Batman Begins to Bruce. we know that both Bruce and Bane wear a mask.

so noone gets the connection what would happen if Batman breaks Bane's mask? come on guys.

Ummm, what makes you think he doesn't? You're still speculating on the point that Tate is Talia, when that is a theory we (as fans) have formulated.
9 out of 10 i writte that Miranda Tate is a villain because there is a chance that she will not be called Talia.

but right now she is a villain. they cast a girl that looks 100% like a young Marion Cotillard. the girl shaved her head. this has to be a connection to a young Bane and Talia. Miranda tate walks out of the city halls with specific clothing like LOS and Bane number one is walking Miranda tate to a custom Tumbler.

Of course, BUT we can't confirm that just yet.

My point remains valid. Yes, possible spoilers have been unveiled, however, it's a bit egotistical and nearsighted of you to claim that Nolan is at the mercy of ninjas and the paparazzi.

My expression isn't one filled with unbridled and pretentious adoration of Nolan. I'm stating the logical here.

Just catching up here so my comments will be all over the place. :funny:

While I like some aspects of these spoilers, I don't think they're true. Kinda bizarre that someone so close to the production will break Nolan's trust and leak stuff like that. Regardless, I like aspects of it so I'm fine if they turn out to be true.

IMO Bane's mask will be a key factor to his defeat but it won't be the case where he suddenly drops dead or faints when the mask breaks or is removed. I like the idea suggested by Brain Damage that Bane loses control when the mask is broken or removed. After it breaks, he goes even more animalistic and attacks in a frenzied state like a wild dog and he loses his control and thought. He goes all out attacking Bats without any strategy while Bats remains his cool and is just wearing his down.

I'm still sticking to my theory that Bane dies by his own hand. Bats will defeat him and this won't go so well with Bane's ego. He can't believe that the guy he defeated, broke and so arrogantly gave the permission to live and/or die came back better than ever to defeat him and reclaim the city he wants to destroy. Bane will taunt (or even beg when taunting doesn't work?) Batman to kill him but Bats will not have any of that so Bane kills himself. I'm not fond of it but I remember some suggesting too that maybe Catwoman will kill Bane. I don't like it because I think the fight should just be between Bane and Bats but I can easily imagine a scene where Catwoman looks at a defeated Bane in disgust and breaks his mask with her heels. I mean those heels have to do something right? :funny:

Regardless of where the last fight is, I sure hope that it's satisfactory. We are expecting the first fight to be brutal so the last fight should be just as brutal and maybe even more so. We should see both men give it their all. I'd like to see the fruits of Batman's re-training and see the Batman that was broken mentally, physically and emotionally in the first fight reclaim his rightful place in the last fight. I recall Bosef saying that we would all be cheering for Bats in the last 40 mins or so of the movie so my hopes are high that we are a getting an extremely satisfying final fight.

I don't think the City Hall fight will be the last Bane/Batman fight but I guess we should also consider that it's possible. I suppose being that this is the last of the trilogy, Nolan will need time to tie up all loose ends and end up the trilogy with a more emotional state so I can see the action sequences (Bane/Batman fight, chase scenes, etc.) ending earlier and then Nolan focusing more on the emotional scenes. Kinda like in LOTR.

I don't know. I've rambled too much. :oldrazz:

I think this is a certainty. He did the same thing in TDK. The main adversarial battle was between Bats and The Joker, but Nolan returned the focus to Bruce, Dent and Gordon at the end because they were the heart of it. I'd expect something similar again.

I agree that Batman will remove Bane's mask too. In the prologue Bane identifies himself through wearing it ('nobody cared who I was until I put on the mask). He treats it with importance for more than physical reasons, it's synonymous with his emergence as a leader even by the end of the prologue.

Yeah I think we're going to be shown a nice contrast on how these two men will behave once the mask is forcefully removed from them.

Presuming that Batman has a chase scene and a bomb to dismantle, could Bane be waiting for him in the batcave after his city hall defeat to exact his vengeance?!?!? Or is that simply too much epic beatdown for one movie?

Yeah. If Batman, or Catwoman, removes his mask or severely damages it, will it then be what his quote in the prologue suggests? Nobody caring about Bane, or Bane not caring about himself.

I liked the Batman cartoons defeat of Bane, where he couldnt cut the steel venom wires so he electrocuted them. Obviously I dont want anything that simple in Rises but it was a good twist on just cutting them.

I like the idea that Bane with the mask on is in control, tactful and calculated, but without it he's a mindless killing berserker brute who goes on a rampage.

The line in the prologue when Bane is asked about the mask being pulled off will he die? Banes reply is "it would be extremely painful..... For you" confirms this idea. Go Nolan!!

Bane is afterwards clearly seen lying on the ground, looking almost dead. I don't think "the beast" will be coming out if the mask is broken.

Always nice to see my name bolded as I scroll down the thread :awesome:
But concerning you're last point, I think you're right. I could see this movie being an extra 15 or so minutes longer than the last just to give them the proper monologue - a lot will have transpired throughout the trilogy by the end of this film and Nolan realizes the gravity of everything that has happened, so he won't just rush the resolution, I'm certain of it.

If he throws in some monkey sounds whilst mindless, maskless Hardy could pay tribute to the fine Jeep Swenson performance :oldrazz:

I highly doubt that the picture in question shows the end of Bane. If I'm not mistaken, it takes place at the...

City Hall fight? And that fight is shown to us in the trailer. The final battle has never been shown to us in ANY trailer, for either BB or TDK.

I think complaining about knowing spoilers on the film while visiting and reading a spoiler forum is kinda dumb. As many have said on here, Nolan does not want his films spoiled. He and his production team work hard to keep the biggest secrets of his films from the audience until the film is released. TDKR is no different.

If you lack the self-control to avoid the message boards and movie websites, then you have only yourself to blame. Stop logging into this message board until the film is released. That will minimize your exposure to spoilers on this film.

Personally, I like spoilers. I don't feel it ruins my experience in watching the films. I knew months in advance about Rachel's death in TDK, and I still on the edge of my seat when it actually was about to happen. A great film is great even when you know what is going to happen. TDKR will be the same way. Despite knowing what I know to this point, I still think I will be on the edge of my seat the entire time and will enjoy the heck out of the film on the weekend of its release.

One last thing: That image of Bane is not how he ends. The city hall fight, IMO, is only the second fight between Batman and Bane. There will be one more before the film is over. And I feel strongly that the final fight between these two will take place with Bruce choosing to fight Bane without his mask. Bruce chooses to fight Bane as Bruce and not Batman.

Anyway, enjoy the spoilers from here on and let's have some fun speculating as to what we will and will not see in TDKR later this year!

I know, don ask why, I just do, but, Bane's mask is feeding through a vital substance to him. The substance keeps him under control, almost like a sedative. This much, I suppose, everyone has gathered. The real bit that everyone is missing, is that, in this version of Bane, it sedates... BANE. Once removed from the equation, he becomes a monster (not in the hollywood- sense, in the Hanibal lecter on steroids sense- no loss of intelect). What happens after that, its anybody's guess (well, not mine, coz I wouldn be guessing...). Now, here's to the little people, always there to be stepped on, always there to be used, slowly running the world in the background...

I think this is the image they are talking about. His mask does look damaged. The tubes look broken.

If you zoom in on the image you can clearly see the tubes are broken. There is a very good chance this is in fact the finale.

Which is why I'd be suprised if it was.

We've seen way too much of this footage from the "battle scene" for my taste. I think something's up. I suspect we're being misdirected into thinking this is the obvious payoff. I wonder if Bane is the #1 villain at all.

Or will they pull a Henri Ducard on us?
