thats cool if you dug it and I will never tell someone what to like or not to like. Having said that jumper was a masive pile of human poo, there were too many plot holes and the movie itself was too much in a hurry to setup a sequel that the overall plot didnt make sense.
Me neither, i'm just surprised at how many people outright hated the movie, especially on a site like this. To me, it was a pretty enjoyable 'superpowers' movie.
My complaints:
- Do jumpers have super human powers? I ask because in the arena fight, hayden is pulled down almost 30 feet to the ground and just gets up and shakes it off but 3 minutes later a palidan is dropped 20 feet and dies on impact. Aswell as apparently with stands thousands of electric volts running through there body.
We get this in many superhero movies/tv shows, discrepancies in someone's ability to survive certain types of physical punishment. Ok, it's better if everything like that is consistent, but sometimes we have to give things like that a pass. Those types of things do not annoy me *that* much in these types of movies. If they did, I would be annoyed watching many superhero movies and tv shows.
- If sam jacksons character is killing jumpers because they can teleport then shouldnt he kill himself for using a machine that helps him jump too?
That is like saying 'Cops who arrest people who carry guns in the street should be arrested because they too carry guns in the street.'
I am not saying SLJ was attached to a cause that was noble like the police-force, but it was in his eyes. He felt the natural born jumpers were a threat to society, and used the weaponary that emulated their powers in order to stop them. Once the jumpers were wiped out, he would stop using the machinery.
Like over here in the UK, because the crooks rarely use guns, our poilce force do not carry guns.
- The main chick who hayden likes was beyond stupid, who just ups and goes to another country with someone they havent seen in years and thought they were dead?
The power of true love, instinct is a part of that, that is what led her to go with him. Happens in real life and as a result is used in fiction, it's not just some plot point conveiniance, it was part of the story, the fact she was his great love.
- Also could she seem less subdued when she first sees him after thinking he was dead, she almost approaches him like its been a week since they last spoke.
I would have to see the movie again, I've only seen it once. I do have it on dvd here so I might watch it again soon. That could just be down to some bad direction, or perhaps if I saw the scene, i could explain what I thought the director was going for with that reaction.
