Well looks like he is done in Hollywood he surely broke some NDA by trashing the film like that.
That was extremely unprofessional and right on opening day too
Maybe movie studios should just go with the micheal bay type and stop risking it all on untested flash in the pan guys with hype.
I don't know about this, the director of Jurrassic World was untested and it seems to have worked out pretty well. Maybe Josh Trank just isn't a great filmmaker or he took on a project he had no idea working on. The biggest criticism I've been hearing is the only action comes shoehorned in at the end. Did the original cut have any action?
I know he's been mentioned a few times in this thread for his interview with Trank, but people always ask Kevin Smith, why won't he make a superhero movie and he always says it's because he doesn't like to write or direct action, he movie would just be the heroes talking while the action takes place offscreen. If you look at Chronicle the third act seems a bit shoehorned in and the action isn't all that great. Trank likes the discovery aspect of powers, it's evident in all his talk about "body horror" and Chronicle, but he doesn't seem to know what to do after that. He'd probably due a great job with a story like Unbreakable, where we leave off when the "superheroics" start.
