I have faith in the Russos. Winter Soldier and Zemo were the best MCU villains so far, besides Loki.

I think they will. The leaked clip was just his unaltered voice. I like his GOTG voice.

That leaked clipped is unfinished in multiple ways. Pretty sure Brolin's voice will receive modulation.

If you listen to him in the leaked CC trailer his voice is definitely deeper. I'm sure it's going to be slightly altered for the movie, but it must speak to Brolin's voice/acting talent that he is still able to sound scary as **** even without any moldulations.

I think Brolin's voice is perfect for Thanos, I can't see the big purple guy in the comics anymore without hearing that voice in my head.

Yeah, the Russos are certainly not part of the MCU villain issue. Just as well they are the ones charged with taking control of the real big bad.

Thanos can fly in the comics now, apparently.

He fought Thane, who had the phoenix force, in space. He flew Thane through a planet, Silver Surfer style.. blowing it to smitherines. So Thanos has a new planet busting feat

I've been thinking of ways Hela can take Mistress Death's place in the film and I'm having trouble, but I trust them to make it work if that's the route they choose. Do you guys think we'll get Hela, Death in the "flesh", Death as a figment of Thanos' imagination or just... no death romance storyline (which I find very unlikely).

The way the Infinity War writers described Thanos' motivations (about him wanting to "balance the universe" as he sees it) leads me to believe they aren't going to have Death appear in the flesh.

That makes sense to me. With the amount of heroes being in this movie and the selling point being all those heroes interacting with each other, as well as it being marketed as a send off to the current MCU, it makes more sense to keep Thanos' motivations simple and not devote a large portion of screen time explaining his love affair with Hela or any other embodiment of Death (because there isn't going to be a lot of screen time to go around, given all the characters that will be in the movie).

Marvel has shown that its not 100% bound to the comics. Just because Thanos has a crush on Death in the comics doesn't mean they are going to put it in the movie if it doesn't serve their needs. I could be wrong, but I just don't see it happening.

Thanos is the main draw of this film. What makes the most sense for Marvel to do is make him the most iconic villain in modern film (especially after all the complaints they've been getting about a lot of their villains). There's a difference between not being 100% bound to the comics and completely removing a central aspect of a character. Removing the death element is like removing skinny Steve or Thor being banished to Earth for being reckless. Marvel could have made those movies and left those aspects out, but they didn't, because they understand what aspects of a character or story you can leave out and which ones you can't. Death is the main thing that keeps Thanos from being a generic all-powerful warlord.

Removing the "love for death" angle is removing one of the main things comic fans are looking forward to seeing and one of the things general movie goers didn't know they wanted from a terrifying villain. I find it hard to believe they'll ignore that story line, especially because the very first time Thanos was even introduced in the MCU the accompanying dialogue was "To challenge them is to court death". Don't read too much into Marvel saying his motivation is to balance the universe, that's always been part of his motivation in the comics, but he's doing it FOR Mistress Death.

Y'know what I wanna see? I wanna see Thanos tank the unibeam. Its been forever since Stark used it. Im hoping that scene with Thanos punching him is right after he does take a full power one. And emerges like nothing happened. Then rocks Tony.
