I honestly think Thanos just wants to destroy everything. That simple, at first I thought they were gonna tie him into loving Death or Hela. But

So Im thinking its just conquering and destruction. Of course an idea I had is that he wants to bring back his race. And needs the power of all the gems to do that.

I wonder if they are gonna modulate Brolin's voice. It sounded more normal than it did in GOTG, where it had a more booming quality.

He just sounds like a typical bad guy doing bad guy voice there. Brolin's voice doesn't need modulation, it carries enough heft and is naturally booming. It doesn't have to reach cartoon levels of voice acting.

Right now, based on the trailer, it is a big step up.

Agreed, his voice on its own sounds menacing enough.

I think in addition to fighting Spiderman & Iron Man, I think there's a very good chance Thanks will also duel against Thor.

I hope we see Thanos vs. Hulk too. This is just in terms of solo fights.

Brolin's performance in this is the only thing I'm a little iffy on. It's not that he sounds bad... he just sounds a little too grounded and sane to me. It's been a while, but in the comics, I always remember Thanos being this gleeful psychopath who is A-OK with dying because he thinks it will give him a chance to go bang Death. Brolin seems a bit too serious here. I'm not saying that I want him to be a raving lunatic, but I feel like he's coming off a bit too stoic.

Of course, this is all from a trailer and couple of small appearances in other films, so maybe we just haven't seen enough yet to really judge.

He talks about balancing the universe. Maybe he feels he's doing a cosmic service. Could be that more beings are being born than dying. Something like that.

He looks amazing though. His face is unbelievably lifelike.

Thanos sounds great. I really like that their apparently setting up the first act as actually being centered around him too. That's smart on Marvel's part. Bring him on!

Yup. I'm always on your page, MbJ. There are a couple of things that make me believe that Thanos will retain some of his 'love for a beautiful death related lady' characteristics in the MCU, firstly Josh Brolin's hashtag on this instagram post (why would he bother lying about it?) and secondly, the comment from the Russos about MCU Thanos' motivations being similar to comics Thanos. Not exactly the same, but similar. I still 95% believe that Hela is going to pop up in IW, likely as nothing more than a glorified cameo at the very end setting her up for a larger role in A4, or something like that.

I still just can't see them having the time to introduce a whole new major character like Death in IW with everything else they have to do and the insane amounts of characters they have to juggle. I can't help but think that if Death was a separate character to Hela in this universe, they would have introduced her already.

I may start a poll thread about it at some stage (to see what others think and to avoid cluttering up the Thanos thread) but I need time to collect all my reams of evidence that point towards Hela being in IW/A4. t:
