Infinity War "I Will Bathe The Starways In Your Blood!" The Thanos / Josh Brolin Thread - Part 1

Pure CG coupled with mo-cap data.
This is ILM we are talking about. They went full CG in 2006 with Davey Jones and people had a hard time believing that it was all CG because it looks so real. We are 12 years further now and major improvements are being made to the CGI.
This is full on CG

I can't get over how much Brolin resembles Matt Damon, even under CG images.

For the people that thought they changed the color of Thanos. If the concept art and toys didn't make it clear already, he's still purple. The reason he looked magenta in the first trailer is because of the golden lighting.

THAT looks like Josh Brolin. But, for the love of god...please give him the full armor.

Thanos is Thanos, but if I am honest, I have always been drawn to colors and it was his costume which first peaked my interest in the character back when I was younger.

This rendition of Thanos with the gotg armor would be ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I hope so too, but perhaps they want Thanos to collect all the Infinity Stones first before letting him wear his golden armor?

It's a good thing they cleared that up because there a lot of people who kept swearing he wasn't purple anymore even when being told he was only that color because of different lighting effects going on around him.

That really is some killer CG. I was never all that hot on the Thanos look in Guardians or that AoU stinger, but this is ace.

He has actual weight and substance to him from what we've seen from the Infinity War stuff so far. The armor lacking doesn't bug me one bit, I'm sure we'll still get it in a scene or two.

Love that shot. So much great detail in his facial expressions and I especially love the subtle little smirk he gives.

My sentiments exactly.

Yep. They went with motion-capture this time around, and it shows.

Thanos looks amazing. The CGI on his face is excellent, it looks like Brolin's face augmented with CGI. They seem to have cracked the idea behind making a character like this look legit, with a blend of several aspects to create a very strong and real look.

Hm, so Thanos wasn't motion-capture in Guardians/AoU then? Interesting, I figured it'd be pretty standard practice by then.

Whatever they're doing differently though, it's paid off.

That shot looks a lot better than what we saw of Thanos in the trailer. Excellent effects. Hope we get that standard throughout the film.

Yes this looks very convincing. Looks like a mix between motion capture, the orginal face and CGI works best.

Another vid relating to the MCU 10th Anniversary includes some new BTS footage of Elizabeth Olsen training, Cap with some sort of spear/staff (maybe Proxima Midnight's?) & Star-Lord on wires flying, but the most interesting thing is the gauntlet prop @0:23 with 4 of the Infinity Stones in, but not Time or Soul. In my opinion, looks like Thanos gets Power Stone first from Xandar, then Space from Loki, Reality from Collector, Mind from Vision, then maybe Time from Doctor Strange, then finally Soul in that order?

I really dunno why some thought they changed it. Seemed very obvious it just had to do with the lighting. Just curious who confirmed this recently?

Actually it's without time and mind. In all of the toys and promo art the mind stone is the big one in the middle.

The stones on the gauntlet in that video are power (purple), space (blue), reality (red) and soul (orange).
