Infinity War "I Will Bathe The Starways In Your Blood!" The Thanos / Josh Brolin Thread

They wouldn't be building to him and hyping him this entire time, like this, to turn around and devote most of the screen time to the heroes once again.

Uh, yeah, they could. Like I said again, I cannot foresee a situation where most of the screen time isn't devoted to the Avengers in an Avengers movie, particularly one that has a bigger cast than ever before. Like I said before, I could see a lengthy subplot for Thanos, sure. I'm counting on it, in fact. But to say "There's no reason to believe this won't be mostly told from Thanos' viewpoint" is the thing I'm disagreeing with, since right now I see nothing to indicate a movie with "Avengers" in the title is gonna mostly be about Thanos. That just seems like some theory people cooked up during the phase when some folks thought Infinity War Part 1 would be cancelled and replaced, and just haven't let go of it since.

I'm pretty much just repeating myself at this point but that's because I still don't get why "An Avengers movie is probably going to primarily focus on the Avengers" is such a controversial statement on this board, LOL.

Thanos will get the appropriate screen-time, but I don't see why anyone would think it'd be good practice to try to give him as much of the screen as possible. That's simply just not going to happen. The main focus will be on the heroes because they are the main focus. Thanos being the primary antagonist doesn't negate that facet.

I'm fine with Brolin as Thanos but I hate the pitch shift. The voice gets all muffled and muddy when they process it like that. I honestly think Brolin's voice without the alteration would be much better. My first choice would've been an actor with a more intimidating voice, but maybe if they edit the EQ so that it has slightly more "oomph" it could work as-is. I'd take that over muffled Thanos any day, nearly fell asleep during that Guardians scene

I honestly don't hear any muffled quality to the voice. It sounds perfectly fine. Just deep enough to be intimidating without being over-the-top. I'm hoping it stays the same. Imo, there's no need to alter it any further at all.

I really like his voice in Guardians, I don't know why they should change it

Plus, it would screw with continuity

^ Exactly. And considering going from GOTG to the post-credits scene in AoU they didn't change it, highly doubtful they'll do so at this juncture. Especially when they have no reason for doing so.

His voice and look in GOTG/AOU I think are great.

The only problem I've had with his voice so far is that I couldn't understand what he was saying when he said "...IF you bring me the orb..." in GotG. Otherwise I love it. Can't wait to hear some Markus/McFeely/Russo dialogue come out his mouth.

I hate his "you have the demeanor of that of a pouty child" line. Just sounded terrible.

I'm glad they've got better scribes on this than GOTG.

What Feige said about Thanos has me feeling very confident and excited about this villain.

I liked that line. Ronan was a pouty child, and Thanos had raised Gamora and Nebula as his daughters so he knew all about pouty.

If I were Thanos I would constantly run my finger over my bumby chin.

In the comics, Thanos has a plethora of powers. From strength, to cartoonish durability, to telepathy, energy projection. I wonder what powers the MCU version will have. Given his size, Strength is a given. I'd assume he'd have some mystical abilities, given phase three.

I don't know if we'll see a Thanos blasting beams of energy from his hands though; hope we do.
