Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Iain de Caestecker is Leo Fitz

Iain has nailed it down the stretch. I about broke down at the look of bittersweet joy on his face when Simmons started kissing him all over. The effects of the episode need to be long lasting, and he needs to really struggle to get back to rights. The narrative really needs to live up to the sacrifice he was willing to make, but I think he needs to be rewarded for it as well.

I agree. His sacrifice was major, and we need to see that!
I'd love to see Fitz in a hover wheel chair, acting as the SHIELD Q (Quartermaster) but I'd also love to see him get some reward for his sacrifice.

There's an interesting parallel where Simmons was repeatedly willing to sacrifice herself for the team ( FZZT, TRACKS) ends up being the one someone(Fitz) sacrifices their life to save

Like the Ward/Coulson parallel -
Coulson started off, who am i, why am i here, what's different about me
I can see Ward going through the same experience in season 2.

Fitz turning bad and being the main villain would be pretty terrible, with those motives making zero sense. You saw how shaken he was about Ward's turn, how much he believed in the good in him. Fitz isn't about to contradict his own moral compass like that. I think a wheelchair bound Fitz being the team's facilitator at The Playground is much more likely.

Fitz won't be the villain, it would make no sense. He sacrificed himself for Simmons remember, she didn't force him to die. Fitz is very much a victim, so I'd hope he takes on a Q type role as someone else mentioned. Would be awesome seeing him and Koenig working together :)

fitz might be my fave character so I don't want to see him as a villian. he might turn into something but he'll help the team no matter what

it makes loads of sense. yeah he sacrificed himself for her and pretty much confessed his love for her. and she is still smitten with Trip. that right there is close to enough to push him over the edge. Fitz is the victim and the team is moving on without him.... that pushes him over the edge even more.

Fitz isn't 5 years old, I'm sure he being told she likes him as a friend wouldn't turn him into a homicidal maniac...

If I went on a killing spree every time that happened I'd be locked up by now :funny:

it's not the one thing that happened... it's everything that happened. Fitz is the one that hide under the table when Garrett first came out as the Big bad and had the fight with May and Phil. He's the one that couldn't except that Ward was actually bad. He's the one that was damn near in tears when he couldn't talk ward out of dropping them into the water. His whole life and everything he believed and trusted in have been crushed. and on top of that.... he almost died and may never be the same.

Wouldn't you be in tears if someone you trusted was about the murder you in cold blood? Fitz was the only one of the team to act realistically

Maybe since Fitz can't go in to the field, he places some cybertek equipment into a monkey and controls him from the base... :)

(jk, don't attack me with logic)

what I'm saying is... he has more than a few reasons to be different when he comes back. you don't think it was interesting the last shot of the team on the Bus. that's the new team. Fitz isn't part of the team anymore

Fitz wasn't with the team during that last shot because the writers didn't know what they were going to do with Fitz in season 2. There are several paths they can go down that would make sense, but becoming the villain is not one of them.

But the crucial thing is he hasn't been wronged by anyone on the team. Ward is a traitor, so he has no issue with Coulson and co. If anything, SHIELD saved him

The writers already said they know who dies in week 3 of season 3. they know what they are doing with Fitz

and you know this because? If he's in a coma or in serious condition, we know he's probably not ambulatory, how would he possibly be present during the last shot?

I'm not saying I know anything... I'm saying my opinion... that's all. it's not that serious.

I think Fitz will play a big role in season 2. My theory for his character is he has sustained brain damage which will leave him with memory loss and forgetting his feelings towards Simmons, as well as his loyalty to shield, part of the show will be exploring this through season 2 as a side story to the main theme.

-Nick Fury had told Simmons that he sustained brain damage if memory serves correct

-It would continue the arc of the Fitz/Simmons relationships, will they, won't they, very popular for TV shows to do and causes the audience to invest in their characters and care more, whether negative or positive. I don't think they would give this up after 1 season. It would also create a possible interesting arc with Simmons, Fitz, and Triplett, potentially testing his loyalty to his team and shield.

-Would be interesting to explore his loyalty to shield without the memories to back it up as to why, and in the end his loyalty is proven, perhaps in some sort of sacrifice where he gains powers for season 3

I know a lot of this is reaching, but I think it would be an interesting way to deal with the character of fitz and give us a new look at him at the same time.

think it will be a fitz ward arch. All the rest basicly cut their ties with ward. in wards head fitz is like buddy the dog. Ward having odd concepts of right and wrong could go any where with that.

Cybernetic attack monkeys would have my full support.
