ok this goes out to all the superman returns haters.
which is alot.

anyways fill in the blank
"if nothing else..."

in other words what DID you like. because there must be something.
despite its flaws i loved this movie.

and there are many things, even things that i like, that i can understand that alot of other fans would hate.

but for example the montage of superman saving people in metropolis when everything was going crazy, i dont understand how any superman fan could dislike that scene.

i'm sure there was something in this movie that you tought, atleast on its own, was good.

so what was it.

I liked the movie so i thought there was plenty of excellent scene's in the movie, if you read my 'little things' thread, every scene i mention in there are amoung the best of any CB movie in IMO.

Why do we have to label each other?

^ Its not really a label Wesyeed, its just easier and quicker to type SR hater, than 'someone who disliked SR.'

If nothing else
the movie was wonderfully directed.

I've seen more than that. There's Anti-SR too but it's Semantics, and I'm staying the hell away from that. Dislike and hate have different connotations if I recall. If it were me, I'd acknowledge that there's a middle ground of indifference rather than go straight for the a supposed hater Union, excluding the few who don't care enough to actively hate everything. If you're a hater of SR, that means you'd hate everything and this thread would be meaningless to you, right? That's why I really don't see much need for labels. I'm a simple man who likes cheese, but indeed Labels like that are too simplistic, even for me.

How about SR Dislikers then? Honestly its not meant to label anyone, its just that you get sick of typing the same thing again and again and so find a way to shorten it.

I was thinking SR bashers.

The Prequel star wars movies used: Gushers VS Bashers.

I'm thinking of some labels for the Supes fans. Brb...

Edit: Everybody help me think of some good ones.

Here's some:

Super-sychophants

Singerboys

SR-Lovers

Super-haters

Super-bashers

SR-gushers

Superfriends (I like this one)

Singer's wack pack (Who made this one? It's pretty good)

Super-califradulicious-expialidocious (I couldn't think of anything better)

Well SRlovers, SRlikers comes to mind

not bad.

As for the topic since I don't want to de-rail it further. Though I think to qualify as a hater, you wouldn't find any favor in the film, I'll go along and say that as many have already predicted knowing me as "the Kid" around here, I thought Richard White was actually a cool character and was played very well by Marsden here. :p

please wesyeed get rid of that paris avatar. looking at that scrubber strutting her trampy self on every thread is DRIVING ME NUTS. i cant stand it!!!!!

back on topic,.
SR being dissapointing is an understatement to me so i suppose i would be classed as a hater. whatever....
i dont hate the film. but the more i think about it the more i dislike it.
but yeah, there were definatley some great iconic scenes and moments of greatness in the film.
the sunbake,
the space listening scene.
the plane scene.
the metropolis saving scene.
they were done very very well.
but its the movie as a whole that ruined the awesomeness of those scenes.
i was expecting sooo much better from superman returning to the big screen. the character didnt get the film he was due for IMO.

Dude it's Paris! No way! Don't spoil our party, man... Dance, paris, dance! The stars are blind, yeah yeah.

And those moments are pretty good but I'd have to say they're nothing compared to Hulk's epic leap across the desert. That moment is the best comicbook movie moment for pure coolness sake I've ever seen.

I'm agreed on that some of these selfconsciously cool moments would be a lot cooler if they weren't followed by a cheesy scene like the plane drop or supes vs mr. turret guy.

ok, BUT WHY ARE YOU YELLING!!!???

ok...weird. Anyway I just remembered. The best epic scene for me personally is the one where Jason throws the piano. whoosh. and bam! And we see Jason like a badass looking at his inhaler. That rivals the moment Superman turned back time in my mind.

I'd say for epicness, either where Superman is being beat up or where he is lifting NK into space

I almost like that whole passion of the clark scene.

If you want epic, look no further than clark jumping through the fields. It's a beautifully done scene even if it's sort of just a scene put in 'because it looked cool'. Still the most epic is and will always be Jason throwing the piano. It's not debatable.

When he threw it, I was "whoa!", it was just that cool.

When he lifting NK into space looked very epic, and awesome too.

Though I was disappointed in the film overall - here's what I liked:

"You wrote that the world doesnt need a saviour, but every day i hear people crying for one." (favourite dialogue from the movie)

Saving the plane.

Superman floating in space listening out for a cry for help.

His journey above the clouds to be bathed in sunlight.

His fall from the sky and the people of Metropolis stood totally still watching it.

I loved it and my favourite thing was how good Brandon Routh was plus the FX.

If nothing else, at least I got to hear JW's theme on screen again, and I got to see an update of the Titles from STM and now SII Donner cut titles. Even thought some of the planets were corny and I think the planets they had on the opening credits of MIB II was much better.

You know, I used to think she looked like she kissed a bus going 70. But the older she gets, the better she is starting to look.
