Sam Raimi would have, more than anything, not have used the symbiote at all.

Plus...the symbiote would've been destroyed; I'd rather see that than the symbiote "making an escape". And if we were to have been given Carnage, I bet we'd get a take on Ultimate Carnage since using a serial killer would've been too much for Raimi's light franchise of Spidey.

And a re-appearance by Venom in Raimi's continuity? Unlikely; he doesn't deserve more than just a one-shot because he really doesn't have anything more to give as a villain, unlike Doc Ock, Green Goblin, et cetera. I just wouldn't even dream of Venom being in a future Raimi movie...if that series continued. And as well with the fact that Carnage would've been shown rather than Venom.

And also, with "down the line", for a different continuity such as Webb's, he would probably have a much different idea for the symbiote than Raimi had. I was never a fan of the drug comparison to be honest, but it should have ended the way the novelization had it end.

I just didn't like the idea, that's it. Nothing really comes to mind with why I disliked it; I just didn't like the idea. Maybe it put a bad taste to my mouth of how Raimi used the drug metaphor specifically on Peter; who knows, but we have already gotten the drug take and what not with Harry, so the symbiote could've been different.

silly me, I thought the movie's theme was about revenge and forgiveness, but it's actually about drugs!

I get it now, the movie doesn't suck at all! Actually, it could be the best movie ever made!

I like Greg Weisman's thoughts on the symbiote/Venom that its like a crazy ex. IMO, it's much more interesting & fitting of the character than the symbiote being a drug.

Well the ending of "Nature vs Nurture" showed just how they made the symbiote as an ex-girlfriend. Leaving Eddie to go to Peter just because Peter made it seem like he was begging for the symbiote back.

Yes, the novelization had the symbiote literally eat away Eddie's flesh, organs and what not and only left his bones.

See that would've been great to see on film, but not a chance in a PG Movie I think... still, how awesome would it be..

Unless Flash gets as big of a following as Eddie, I doubt we'll ever see that happen. I'm pretty sure the ONLY Venom we'll eve see on the big screen is Brock, unless Marvel starts making it's franchises like James Bond where new actors are continuously cast.

I would prefer the science angle for Brock. Perhaps he doesn't work for OsCorp or anything, but he does have a science background and his parents worked for Peter's as in the Ultimate comics and TSSM.

The symbiote crashed down in a tiny meteorite about twenty years ago and was quickly discovered by OsCorp, who assigned only four scientists to test it, Mr. and Mrs. Parker as well as Mr. and Mrs. Brock, four scientists that are the top in their own respected achievements. Now, in the present, Peter and Eddie find themselves while both researching their deceased parents and come across the symbiote, still in the hands of OsCorp, which never went pass through phase one because they believe the symbiote would do no good in doing any good for the company, and obviously they are right.

Not using the Ultimate symbiote, but keeping in a science aspect while still using the 616 symbiote.
