But, everyone here must be macho and cool and cry like a strong action hero.![]()
I simply don't cry at all.

But, everyone here must be macho and cool and cry like a strong action hero.![]()

I want to know that as well... I have seen plenty of people cry and not once do they cry 'cool'. Which is one reason, for me, it's hard to cry in public- because I know I don't look good when crying.
I tremble, trying to hold the tears away, which albiet forms an unintentional 'face'- but once they come out- they come out big time.I'm man enough to admit it.

....never had someone close to you die, or had someone you truely loved.
My mother died of cancer 7 years ago, and I cried alot, so I guess that makes me emo. I choked up when I was saying my wedding vows to my wife. I cried when my children were born, so I guess that makes me emo too.
I actually feel bad for people who don't get the crying scenes, because when you are touched personally by a tragedy (and it's enevitable that we all will face it at one time or another), you will probably be totally unprepared for the grief you face.
You can make up words like "emo" to make you feel cool, but when tragedy strikes, it will hit you like a knife through the heart.
This is the most pointless thread ever.
Thats not true. Plenty of people laughed when Uncle Ben died, in the theatre for the exact same reason.
The select individuals in general who claimed to have laughed because Tobey 'made a funny face' may be judging the scene in a more surface sense. When a person cries in the real world due to an unfortunate tragedy they don't take the time to look in the mirror to make sure their face doesn't 'look funny'.

Nobody laughed in my theatre. Everyone was into it.
There was a lot of applause at the end as well. Many people even stayed until after the credits to see if anything was going to happen. I felt personally satisfied when I walked out of that theatre. I was in an excellent mood for the whole week, like I got laid or something.
There's such a thing as a dramatic build up of emotion. When you take the time to let that pain sink in and let it build up inot this desperation, the job of conveying that emotionis done. But when you instantly overreact, then it becomes unbelievable.
The emotion in this movie came off as completely false, IMO.
No the audience didn't laugh. Select immature dolts laughed. In my theater there were only a handfull of people who laughed.
In reality, sometimes that is not the case. Peter doesn't have the time to just think it over. The nerd is desperate for her. She's the girl of his dreams. If he looses her now he might never get back. He's not experienced in relationships, talking things over, smoothing it out. He does exactly what I would expect him to. Instantly tries in desperation to comfort her, but he begins to get sad. For someone whose never had anybody his whole life, it's to be expected. Plus, he's super sensitive too.
And it's not that he instantly cried either. You've got that wrong.
So... what do you guys look like when you cry?
