I never saw Batman Forever in theaters and I really don't know why other than my attention being entirely on the Power Rangers movie which came out a couple weeks later. I wouldn't end up seeing it until it came out on video later that year but I had the Batman and Riddler McDonalds glasses, the comic adaptation, a couple of the action figures (Bruce to Batman, a Robin, Two-Face and The Riddler) and the Batmobile toy. I still have a soft spot for that blue light deco.
It's not the worst Batman movie nor is it the best but I do think that Val Kilmer is objectively the most underrated Batman. Somehow, even with Riddler and Two-Face chewing the scenery, Forever is very much Bruce's movie.
Perhaps it was until The Batman came out.But is it the best Halloween superhero movie?![]()
It really is a great scene, in a show with so many. I'm sure Corenswet will be great, but I'm not quite ready to move on.
And to be fair to Gunn, that scene is one of the benefits of the television format. It is a payoff to 7 episodes worth of build up, which is a lot more than Gunn has to work with in a movie.
Now, the follow up to a reveal, no I would not trust Gunn to handle that well.
EDIT: Also, sadly for FF fans, its looking like Naked Gun may have more juice than expected.
Don't forget U2's smash hit
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
The Authority, I'd imagine. Sgt. Rock's not actually dead.

Second horniest love interest behind Michelle's Selina. The character poster for Batman Forever was legitimately good. They captured the essence of the character.

How about a group of civilians on a runaway monorail lifting him up like a Messiah? The is the kind of thing that should ONLY happen at the end of a Superman's run. That's why it works in S&L. I don't want to watch a whole series of movies (or show) with Clark Kent as a celebrity. Would actually hate that.

Whatever it is, it's just not what I want to see from Superman at all, except as an ending.I dunno, I think there is enough there for a good writer to work with, without going with the obvious celeb route. As a status quo for a long time, who knows.

Well I hope it's not some version of Superman & The Authority. Even Morrison couldn't make that work.![]()
