I'm Not Messing Around, I'm Doing Important Stuff in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

Sidebar but I really want to see 28 Years Later now because this damn ending has everyone divided.

And the Brits are calling us stupid for not understanding it. But what else is new? :sneeze:

The ending is so out of place but at the same time you'll dig it.

No spoilers but if you heard this playing in the background while that ending was happening, it'll fit right in.

The movie is great. Yeah, that scene is weird, but the rest of the movie is so good, it doesn't bother me.

OMG so a horde of Putties comes out?!

Definitely will be watching it this week. :o

I am getting the feeling that certain groups are going to attack Nia DaCosta again....

Here we go… :csad:

I need to know more about what Bone Temple is about before I can feel anything about it lol! I loved 28 Years Later, so naturally I am excited to see more in the world. But I have no idea where it picks up from or anything. Since we have very few details

The ending aside, I think there is a disconnect between expectations and what we got with 28 Years Later. I think people expected something more like 28 Weeks Later, that would be more a pure zombie horror film with lots of lore expansion and such.
But 28 Years Later is much more an art film about the nature of death and our relationship to it as well as how we treat others and cruelty, and much more character driven. So I think the people who came mostly for creative zombie action and such aren't quite getting what they wanted. And the movie surprised me with what it actually was, but in a good way. One scene in this movie got me fairly misty eyed.

I can easily see what's driving the division, but in the end, it was my favorite movie I have seen thus far in 2025

Best live action Spidey to ever do it, thus far. :o

My only beef… Tobey couldn’t talk sh**. And that’s Spidey’s best superpower.

And considering how he (allegedly) is in real life, I don’t know why he held back.

Fitting for a Diet Pepsi fan to say :o

Now you’ll look me in the face and say those bum ass TASM movies were good. :sneeze:

I haven't seen any spoilers yet, but someone compared the ending to Power Rangers so I'm prepared for weird stuff.

I have a lot of free time this week, so I'll be able to do TWO double features. Tomorrow it's The Phoenician Scheme and Dangerous Animals, and on Wednesday I'm seeing F1 and 28 Years Later.

And my God has it been that long?!

And Tom Holland is still 17 years old a decade later. :o

Tobey played a good awkward nerdy Peter, Andrew played a good jokey smartass Spidey, Tom respects the balance and gives some from column A and some from column B. I just wish his movies had less hand-holding from other MCU heroes.

I can't ever fully buy the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man just for the fact that he lives in the rich part of Queens and then mostly spends time in Manhattan. :o

Bruh.

Holland Spidey was cool with the bodega owner and ordered chop cheeses. Garfield couldn’t lace his boots. :sneeze:

I’ll say this.

When Garfield’s Peter caught MJ from falling… I finally got it. :o
Garfield stole that whole movie. Well, Dafoe did a little bit too.

But to be fair, Garfield also brought it in TASM2 during the scene where Gwen dies. I don't know if that was because he and Emma Stone were dating at the time and it enhanced his performance but for a brief moment I forgot I was watching a garbaggio movie. :o

That's got nothing to do with Garfield being the superior actor :o
I'm just gonna say it here: Tobey is the worst of the three Spider-Man actors in general. That's not to say he's a bad actor but Garfield can run circles around him and Holland is like a human Pixar movie the way he can manipulate the tears out of me. Just watch The Impossible.
